i love the background on #1. i really love the color scheme and the text. but i'm not feeling just the placement of text. i really think it'd be helped with a logo, a picture of some kind. i think of the Criterion Collection's "C" logo or the freshness of the "Fine Films" logo. even "Paramount Vantage", which is mainly text, feels like it has depth and tangibility because it's on a label maker sticker. it's simple and classic, but 3D and modern. i like the creation of depth in your example alot. if you can give me an original logo that pops on there, i'd say you have a very strong design.
