Although the ligatures and alternative letterforms are part of my font's standard character set, I hadn't noticed that some of these ideas have already been submitted by other designers.
I understand what you mean. Please see revision #161.
When I created the font, I designed alternative forms for several letters, as well as a large number of standard ligatures. I've used some of these in #161 - I've connected the E-D and G-E pairs; and also reduced the number of 'cut' letters, making it a less dominant feature.
I created some bespoke lettering for a client a couple of years ago and went on to create an entire font based on those original designs. I've used that font here and cut a line through it to create the leading edge.
Does the font have the look and feel you're looking for?

Apologies for any inconvenience.

Does it work better?
