Comment Activity hairboy404 commented on #383 Good job! This is great. We liked this frame shape as well as the others you did that are also finalists. It really gets the point across in a unique way. Well done. David 8 years ago svp commented on #374 Withdrawn I think so too. 8 years ago hairboy404 commented on #374 Withdrawn This is great. I'll take your opinion here. A real VU meter has the red exactly as you see it here. In the other version, the red is the entire right part of the line. Technically not accurate, but I think it might be more attractive to the eye. Thoughts? 8 years ago hairboy404 commented on #366 Withdrawn White pickup here, I think. Love it. 8 years ago svp commented on #374 Withdrawn version with a pure red. 8 years ago hairboy404 commented on #372 Withdrawn We love this version. Can we see the guitar form in black with the white pickup. The line as you have it here. The font color is your discretion. Maybe a contrast color so it's not too much black? 8 years ago hairboy404 commented on #358 Withdrawn Very cool 8 years ago hairboy404 commented on #315 Withdrawn Can we please put the border around this too, just to compare? Thank you. 8 years ago hairboy404 commented on #330 Withdrawn I really like this design. I'd like to try a few color variants. Just for comparison. 8 years ago hairboy404 commented on #330 Withdrawn l 8 years ago hairboy404 commented on #285 Withdrawn This shape looks like a studio VU meter. I'm wondering if you can enclose it in a VU shape. Some are rectangular, some a little more curve. The shape surrounding the logo would help make it look like the emblem logo we were hoping to come away with. Good work. Thanks for your patience. 8 years ago hairboy404 commented on #285 Withdrawn http://www.dafont.com/mixolydian-titling.font?text=LEAD+GUITAR 8 years ago hairboy404 commented on #285 Withdrawn http://www.dafont.com/keep-calm.font?text=LEAD+GUITAR 8 years ago hairboy404 commented on #249 Withdrawn Could you possibly try this without the border surrounding the pickup and the pickup itself vertical instead of horizontal? that way the needle can come out from between the bobbins of the pickup…… Digging the general ideas so far! 8 years ago hairboy404 commented on #285 Withdrawn Cool. I'd like to see a version with the pickup black instead of white. You had a cool detail on the arrow at the top when you designed this with the actual guitar shape. It kind of looks like a truss rod cover ( guitar jargon ). The font isn't bad, but I could still try another. I'll poke around to see if I can help any being more specific. Thanks, David 8 years ago hairboy404 commented on #278 Withdrawn Sorry. Looked at the star again. On the V the pickup sits away from the neck just a bit more than is represented here. Lower than the star was by a little. 8 years ago hairboy404 commented on #278 Withdrawn Almost. The placement is a little off. It's pretty much where the star was in your first design. Towards the bottom of the arrow form. Center bottom anyway. Size looks pretty good. The dots on the pickup can be filled. Can I see in black and white? Thanks 8 years ago svp commented on #270 Withdrawn Sorry I am really not an expert in guitars. I drew a single coil pickup from a linked picture where two pickups combined together. Also I've been guided by this http://www.electricalfun.com/workbenchfun/images/guitar_circuits_2.jpg. In some variants where I drew a shape closer to a flying V I was guided by this http://c1.zzounds.com/media/fit,2018by3200/quality,85/1_Full_Straight_Front_NA-eadcf2aeaccb2543487f45c5a3012ff5.jpg Hope I realized difference between a single coil pickup and humbucker pickup. Now I will try to prepare variants in a bigger size. 8 years ago hairboy404 commented on #270 Withdrawn ? I'm not sure how to make myself clear? This isn't a humbucker pickup shape anymore. A humbucker pickup is represented in the picture link I sent. This is a single coil pickup shape. It's basically this shape doubled and sandwiched together. Try to size it and position it as it would appear as the neck position pickup on a flying v. Thanks, David 8 years ago hairboy404 commented on #244 Withdrawn I think I described what I saw in your design poorly. The shape on the bottom looks like a flying V shape in the abstract, not the literal. The needle represents a dial and a guitar neck and head. The bottom form looks like the top of a flying V to me, not the full form of the guitar body. With that view, you would only see a single pickup. Could you please try this with the shape I sent that you used for the same design with just the pickup shape? This looks like a soapbar, or a covered pickup shape. An uncovered pickup has the other shape you used on that design. It doesn't need the border rectangle shape either. Thank you. David 8 years ago svp commented on #228 Withdrawn Ok, I'll try to make different versions. 8 years ago hairboy404 commented on #228 Withdrawn The shape you have already looks like the top of a flying v. Don't change a thing there. The picture was a reference for where the hum bucker shape sits on the guitar. I think the humbucker shape in the right spot makes more sense than the star. The other thing we wanted to try was just the humbucker shape used as the entire form of the bottom of the needle. Just for comparison. Does that make sense? Thanks, David 8 years ago svp commented on #228 Withdrawn You want to see a real flying v or something that looks like flying v? 8 years ago hairboy404 commented on #228 Withdrawn http://static.bootic.com/_pictures/1419224/gibson-flying-v.jpg 8 years ago hairboy404 commented on #228 Withdrawn Can we try and make the word guitar stand out more too? Maybe lengthen the font a bit? As I look at the logo, guitar needs to stand out slightly more. 8 years ago hairboy404 commented on #228 Withdrawn Cool design. Can we try a different font please? Maybe something a little beefier or more robust. Nothing crazy, just a little more of a stand out. Instead of the star shape, can we try the shape of a humbucker pickup?https://system.na2.netsuite.com/core/media/media.nl?id=301&c=3496541&h=67e31ba693ec27f56656 Your guitar shape on the needle looks like a flying v, please make sure the humbucker shape sits in the right spot. I would like to see the humbucker shape used instead of the guitar bottom shape too, to see how that works. Cheers, David 8 years ago
