I've put this near the bottom of the rankings, as the top 24 ranked are currently being evaluated by a team, and a number of them will be thrown out later today. At that time we'll move this up into consideration by the team.

Maybe try Laurania and Press side by side under the scale??? And maybe try one with coloring the scale blue on the left, red on the right?

I kind of like this, but the fork in the road idea is probably not going to work after all - it's not going to "pop" or tell the right story for the brand. Perhaps something using the justice scales or lady liberty

We kind of like this, but I'm not sure what the feather thingy is supposed to represent.

Per the additional information provided, the logo needs to be a "portrait" logo, not a landscape loge - as it needs to be able to be effective on the spine of a book.
