I like the colors. I am looking for a little more WOW factor, the other logos as flat, 2D. I'd like to see more depth and more colors. maybe replace the paper plane with a space rocket or shuttle. and it is launching from a College or maybe I like the sophistication of rank 2 3 and 4. But I do like your first design.
Make the "It's not rocket science" change font to Comic Sans, not italic, remove the exclamation and add quotations. Make the font a bit bigger one point and maybe bold? Put a exclamation at the end of Life, like on the one that had the paper airplane.
