Here are some of my proposals. Instead of creating a separate icon / typography combination, I've created an all encompassing logo / unit. One that can be used for additional elements just as branding stamps, watermarks, shirt badges/embroidery etc.
On a side note, I'm actually considering experimenting with my own homebrew! I love my craft beers, and try to get to a few different places here in London to see what new ones are being created (when I can). Also been a fan of the stronger Trappist creations from Belgium, especially from the Rochefort family of beers!
The logos are 100% vector so will scale well to any size, and works well in full colour, B&W and on coloured backgrounds if needed,
It would be my pleasure to work up any variations so please do say. I look forward to your comments or thoughts.
Thank you for the response.. I like the logos.. They would look great on shirts, stickers and other Merchandise.. We even talked about a logo that could be made into a brand to stamp or burn onto boxes and other things..
Looking for something a little different for the main logo to put onto the beer boxes and bottles.. Something with a unique symbol or design that will be very recognizable to Last Call.. We don't have a very precise vision of what the logo will be which makes it more difficult for you and other artists..
Thanks again for your interest.. Look forward to more designs..
To be honest, it just kind of came up and stuck... Friends and family liked it.. No real relevance behind it.. Our beers started high in alcohol content which we felt paralleled with the name.. In the last few years we have lowered the alcohol percentages and added more flavor to the beer..
We talked about a design including a clock, a bell, even one of our dogs... We never fell in love with any designs or pictures...
I browsed your portfolio.. I liked the The Richmond Draught House logos and a variations of the Nicol Interiors... Look forward to what you come up with...

I won't lie the first thing I thought of was a bell ... Almost like its calling last orders, so that's what I've tried with these two submissions; #78 and #79. Hand illustrated bells that can be used with or without the full logo.
Out of interest what strength did you used brew? Only reason I ask is that I'm rather partial to the Rochefort 10 which is 11% and the Kastell Bruin also 11%. But I think the strongest would have been the Goose Island Bourbon County Stout with a whopping 15%. Very tasty, but more of a "one every now and again" :)
And with #80 and #81 I've contained the entire design into a shape, one that can turn it into a full bottle label if needed. Also having it contained also means you can control the background i.e. if it needs to go onto different coloured backgrounds, we can change the the background colour of the shape to suit.
I like the new look.. The bell looks good... Has a cool vintage look to it... Can you include some black into the logo? I like the brown tones, was thinking maybe use a little black for contrast.. Thanks... Look forward to more....
The early beer batches came out anywhere from 8-10%... The machine we use is much more efficient than we gave it credit for early on... Since, we have altered recipes and ingredients to get the beers more of what we are looking for... Although we may brew some more high gravity beers in the future, we will be sticking to beers in the 5-7% ball park..
No problems at all - something like these; #151, #152, #153 and #154 I've kept the brown and black contrast and added some to the all black versions as well.
Based on your interest in brewing and diverse logos, we would like to give you the opportunity to produce some more logos.. The consensus is to produce a logo that is not so busy... Simple is better... Something with Last Call... Brewing Co. or Company...est. 2008.. Does not need Carmel, CA... Something with bold text for Last Call... Some design, pattern, or lines to accent the logo not dominate it... Something without any borders surrounding the logo.. The overwhelming response was that the final logos were to common and too busy...
Are you interested in putting some together..? Look forward to your response
Hi there ... Hope you're having a good weekend so far? It's been quite a good one here in the UK - the sun is still shining even though it's 21h00, and I've just sampled a cider I helped create the label for (they are a new artisan cider company creating small specialist batches!) I can definitely give it a shot and create something more simple ... The only snag is that, whilst in judging phase only the 1st ranked designer can submit. But you can swop designers around into 1st allowing others to submit or alternatively take it back one step into the Top Five mode - allowing multiple designers to submit. Either way I'm happy to experiment with a cleaner look - possibly something similar to my very early entries?? As it's late here in the UK I can work on these tomorrow for you. Cheers Angus
Hi Angus... I submitted the request to open up the Top 5 again.. Even if denied I would put you in the 1st spot to submit more logos..
Yes, something similar to your first submissions.. Something bold yet simple in design... We want something different than other beer logos out there.. Something that does not need a lot of design of clutter to make a statement... Very opposite of what we had originally described..
