if the logo graphic was mirrored about vertical it might make more sense? the star is small, how will it show up on the business card? It's possible that the graphic could be rotated 45degrees clockwise and make really good sense vs. the typical nozzle in a laser welder.
I'll take out the sublte colors for reference, but I don't think anything is going to prevent this design from printing well. I'll try some different things for you though.
the 45 degree part was a fail on our end. so, I think the original, with solid color. Red. Can you comment on what the graphic is derived from? People were struggling with what to say about the logo and the geometrical shape. Some were thinking "baseball!" Others were thinking masonic temple!
The inspiration for the icon part was a stylized robotic hand. I wanted to give it a sense of motion and mobility, almost like a computer controlled robotic arm. I've seen robotic welders in the automotive industry that operated similar to this fashion.
I had initially put it on a 45 degree angle in order to simulate a high level multi-axes type of cnc application. I thought it looked kind of cool so I submitted it to you.
I can easily do the solid colors like you requested, and of course you could also have it the way it is now for web and online uses.
