I noticed you were looking for a mascot or character logo (which is probably the main reason for a lack of entries thus far, as they are more time consuming to create), but I wanted to see what you thought of this initial idea in the meantime. I have a shark bite taken out of Cali right where you guys are located, almost as if to say you are taking over or that you own Orange County. Also, let me know about any specific color-schemes you may have had in mind. I noticed green, navy and silver were all mentioned, but I was getting a lot better finished looks excluding the green. However, we can certainly work up some new schemes that incorporate green if that is one of your prominent colors. Let me know your thoughts, and we can go from there. Thanks!
Thanks!!!! Both are excellent designs! I like how you expanded to the state and took a bite of the Orange County so to speak. I think the color scheme and design look very polished. Would it be possible to use the green for the State and and maintain the Navy everywhere else or is that the area where it wasn't working?
Here is a 3-color option with green implemented, as requested. You can decide which version you like best! In the meantime, I will see what other ideas and design variations I can come up with as well.
Here is a new idea I came up with that is more of a round emblem. Having a round shape would give the logo more versatility for going on jerseys, sleeves, merchandise, etc. Also this one incorporates a lifesaver flotation device as the circle, which is a different clever way to represent the area. Not sure which you prefer, but I figure the more options, the better!
The cool part about this round version is you can remove the words and have a round emblem which could serve as an alternate icon if you want. (Such as a patch on jersey sleeves or hats!)
This one elicited a smile!!! I agree that a round logo does lend itself to more versatilty with the merchandising, plus this is funny in a good way for kids. Would it be possible to make the stripes on the life saver blue and the print green and place them both on a white and navy backdrop?
the bite is hysterical too! Love it! Had one other idea that I think might nail it. Can we add just the head of the lacrosse stick coming out of the water so it looks like the shark itself is craddeling it just beaneath the surface.
Here is close-ups of the new icon, both are the same except one has the border around the stick to match the fin (#15) and one has just the stick in silver with no border (#16).
I will get some versions prepared for use on white soon as well!...
really like this. last changes i think here... 1.life preserver white where the green is and keep the blue where it is now. 2. i like the green outline around the stick and fin, but would like the head silver/grey adn the strings inside the pocket white like they are now.
so far this looks like its gonna be my pick. Can you reverse the fin so that it goes from left to right. its ok if some of the stick is behind the fin. Or if it looks good the the fin only going right to left then perhaps have the stick going the same way too. last detail...can we make the fin just a touch wider too? I'm really grateful for the hard work you've put into this!
Here is that revised entry; sorry for the delay in getting it submitted last night for you. I do like how it looks with both the fin and the stick going in the same direction--it definitely feels more natural and real! I will be around for the rest of the day should you decide you wish to see any other changes or variations.
Also, just a quick reminder for you: I can still submit revisions and variations during Judging Mode. So, if you don't get back to your contest before then, don't worry--we can still rework anything if needed! :)
I think you nailed it! Two last request! Promise! Can I see the fin just behind the stick moving left to right as you did in the last one and can i see it with just the life preserver and the words written to the side. The contest isnt over but you're going to get my business. More than anyone your really translated my ideas into a vision. THANKS!
Sure thing; here you go! I will post a version with the words on the side next as well. I would like to thank you as well--when a client knows & accurately communicates what they want, it makes my job much easier.
These look awesome. I didn't communicate the exactly in my last message I guess. Could we place the fin behind the stick going left to right as if the shark was chasing the stick or craddeling to his front side. Thanks! You've definitely earned this one!
YOU GOT IT! You da man! I want to pick you as the winner. You've been super responsive and easy to work with the entire time.A good guy and a great designer! I've been working with my family on picking everything too and they've really enjoyed the process.
I want to go with the last change with the fin following the stick. As for the life preserver lets go without the bite mark and but can we make the stick darker grey and go with the silver print and blue trim. Then we have the master piece! I'll send you a t-shirt, shorts and hat too as soon as we print it up! Jest let me know what size you like!
I will award you the fee and would love to collaborate with you directly on other projects in the future. This has been great!
That sounds great! Thanks! We can communicate via email after the contest to figure everything out. I will get those changes made right now, and then you can finalize everything. Also, just a quick tip: the top 3 spots have to go to 3 different designers, but then anything from 4th on down can go to me or to anyone else of your choosing.
I am glad you enjoyed the process--you were a very fun and involved client to work with. I had a blast too! :)
I believe this is the combination you wanted, but double check and let me know! Thanks! I will submit horizontally with the text on the side as well...
