Great use of negative space.
Out of all your updates, we like this one the best. I'm switching you back to number two because we are waiting for updates from another entry. But let me show this to the boss and see what he says. Thank you for all the hard work.
Yes. We're a little nervous about completely changing up the logo after 60 years. Your Kite/tux icon is good tho. I was hoping for someone to combine clothes and kites in some way, and you did. We still have not chosen a winner, so you're still in the running.
Not sure which ones your are referring to as mock ups... There are still several versions of your work up in the contest showing us how it would look on our pole sign.
I hope you got a chance to look at the mockups, I had to remove them as it was against policy to post mockups before you have made you final selection.
Thanks again for all your feedback and favourable rankings.
even tho they share a resemblance i believe the context it placed in would debunk that impression. & it would more likely always have the name "KITE"S written beside it.
i think this is a better execution of the idea the diagonal angle sells the concept of a kite as it more dynamic & suggests motion & also you can unmistakably identify the Tux.
hope you find these more suitable. a kite and a Manta Ray do have a remarkable resemblance.
these newer ones has less black area, other than the tail that was probably what was giving the manta ray impression. didn't want to loose the tail as it helped to bring across the kite graphic.
also noticed your previous logo is very bold and has strong visibility, it seems it can be seen & read from distance. this is good as functionality of the logo is paramount.
looked at you sign & building, maybe an horizontal layout would soothe you better. but a logo should have the flexibility tho orient the graphic either on top or beside the font.
incorporating a pedestal with a clothes hanger. the pedestal giving the impression of clothes hung on the hanger.
the pedestal is also synonymous with quality and relevant to your theme of treating clothes as work of art.

Thank you.
We prefer the more narrow version to the wider kite.
