Hi, here is my concept for your review. I kept it quite simple, because you asked for simple and simple is the main thrust of web 2.0. I used red and gray, but I will experiment with other colors if you like the general concept, because I think this could look a lot cooler in something a little more bright and inviting. I used a bell as the pictoral mark instead of the cross. I expect you will see a lot of designs that use a cross, and maybe I'll try one, but I wanted to start by getting away from something too commonplace. I used a bell because it summons people to pray, and that is the focus of your company. Your feedback is quite welcome!

OK, so after saying I was trying to get away from the cross, I had an idea. I was wondering what it would look like to try to form a cross out of negative space between two letters, and the G and D jumped right out at me. This is VERY subtle, but you'll notice how the G and D are like mirror images of each other, and a subtle cross shape is formed between them. There are a number of things I could do to make this more defined, but I wanted you to see the bare bones of the idea before I add complexity to it. Thanks!

#9 I really like your thoughts on both of your designs! I especially like that you are wanting to try things outside the norm. However, the cross in the middle of the two letters is REALLY cool. It feels a little like star trek or Battle Star Galactica, but I do like it.

#4 the bell hanging off the "o" makes me see a iconic woman! Weird huh? I like the idea of the bell though.

Hi! Thank you for your feedback. I will work on both of these concepts to see if I can eliminate the unintended consequences! And I'll play with color a bit, but you know that's really flexible, so if you like a basic design, color can ALWAYS be modified!

Hi, I've got a few variations for you. I think the font choice for both is pretty good, so I'm experimenting with changes that don't involve changing the font. I've got two variations on the cross design that aren't as simple, but that hopefully look a little less "star trek" like. I really think that's a consequence of the open capital D, which is necessary in order to form the cross shape. But in one, I tried adding an inner tail to the G so it's not an exact mirror of the D. In the other, I just tried emphasizing the cross shape more. I also did a new version with the bell, hanging it off the G instead of the O. Hopefully it won't remind you of a woman shape now. I'd love to hear your thoughts! Thanks.
