I could definitely be ok with icons. Maybe a more abstract design that still communicated kids? I do like how the icon is on top and the text is bottom on #31. Also, while I appreciate the attempt, don't feel like you have to be boxed in with the religious symbols. I'm totally ok with it not communicating anything religious. I'd much rather have a logo that communicated 'kid' and 'fun' than one that communicated a religious idea. Very interested in the possibility of other ideas you might have.
This may be too much but what if the kid (instead of the holding the shield and wearing the cape) was standing with a "stronger" pose. Like maybe both hands on his hips? Still above and centered on "kidnation" Also, try a different font. That font still strikes me as a bit too whimsical.
