This is a good illustration and not too cartoony which is the direction I was headed.

No worries I understand, as for the artist selling there are 2 reasons

1. It already been sold a lot of time and legally he cannot sell all rights, because to many people already use it.

2. He makes more money selling over and over for a low amount.

but reason 1 is most probable

I think it looked great. I showed the owner all of our submissions but even though he wanted himself he now seems to hate it once he sees it. I uploaded an image that we wanted to purchase all rights to but the artist won't sell. The owner would like the entries to maybe use him as inspiration. Sorry for the inconvenience.
