well, they are cool. Couple of problems though is a box like that probably isn't going to hold it's own if it's not on black, so would probably limit it's use (and if you try to use something you have only seen on a black background, it is going to look totally different in size/boldness, etc. because black backs sort of intensify everthing and make light or white seem "bigger", so unless you contain it within a black circle or square or whatever so the black is always part of the logo, you will be very surprised at what it looks like without). Second, both of those look like they are made in a non-vector program, which we are required to use vector programs so that your logo will be easily scalable, etc. 3, if i make the box metal or partially metal (especially brushed), you won't be able to do this. I can, and will try to some of the effects in the vector program around a box (one that might be worth trying for is the

That might be possible to do something somewhat similar, and am willing to put some time into it now to see if I can come up with something more in that direction if you would like. I might also be able to do a box shape with colored light being contained and eminating from it if none of the box has to be metal.
Another idea is that you could use a more basic logo that work well with an image like that and consider using an item like that within a brochure or truck wrap graphic in combo with the logo as illustration.
Let me know if you'd like me to try something like the one in the link i listed above (effect-wise), let me know. Am willing to explore it and put some time into now if you would. And, if it just doesn't look like it would be possible, i could let you know.
