I prefer a light background I like how clean it is and the theme of the icon Could the icon have a glossy highlight, as shiny as victor and rolf (see moodboard). I would like my name in a thicker font. I like the shape of the letters of my name but it looks a bit too young, there isn’t enough gap between the main body of the a and the top of the letter. I would also like the k to be stronger but still in the same font as the rest of the name. I want the font to be a bit more creative, I like the way the q in the illamasqua logo (see moodboard) has a lot of movement and is distinctive but really controlled. Make Up Remix need to be a complementary font and tie in with the main logo - I don’t mind it in capitals but it works against the name I need to show I am an artist and it needs to exude more luxury I love the way u have worked the colours but I want it a bit more bespoke, so it would be individual to my brand.
Thank you for feedback! I enhanced the icon to be more glossy. It would be a lot easier to have glossiness against a dark background like victor and rolf. New font and made a bit thicker + other refinements. Make up Remix was in same font in first entry too but now I made it lower case, I agree that it worked against the name.
I see what you mean with the highlights against white it ends up to glittery and not refined. I like the development of customising the text but I think it is a little casual. I would perhaps like to see the text more spaced out. I love the idea of the symbol but would like it tighter and more refined and to sit smaller within the whole logo. The part of the symbol that sits on the right could maybe be a smaller angle?What is your idea behind the Symbol? The use of colour is the best I have seen. Hi Katie, I'll try to refine things out now, a bit tight on time though. I posted made the icon bigger to show the complex highlights. Idea of the symbol is a bird-like feeling - free and a bit wild - as an artist should be. It is still a K figure at the same time so I didn't made it exactly bird-looking. I also had a butterfly figure in mind but it felt more constrained and since I see butterflies representing logo companies all the time then I thought it's way too overdone figure. If you can fit me into first five in the rankings then I can submit entries after open phase of the contest is over.
I can easily remove the glitter (nice Parisian glamour, I like it, probably that's why I made it so complex) if you feel like it shouldn't be there. I could add a more subtle gloss and I have a couple of different fonts in mind also. I'll try them out in a few hours or so.
I think this is awesome, could I see some variations? I would like to see the text thiner and more feminine. Also could i see the symbol as an outline in a few variations?
Thank you! I did a few variations now. Is the text/symbol relation size ok now? Also are colors good or should I make them lighter? How about the font style? If you have any font you like then you could point that out. Otherwise I will search for more when I get back after 8 hours or so.
Katie, I realized that my design is probably too elite and corporate and doesn't meet your requirements. Essence in Lancel logo is a bit different. Also it's form is not very symmetrical, rather more freehand-like. I working on something more free and warmer regarding in icon form. Maybe you can lift me to 5th place again so I could post that new version?
