I can always, thin the lines or make less of them. The problem is that because the site can only upload images that are relatively low resolution it's hard to really see the logo as it would appear in it's finished form (something will probably need some fine tuning after a contest is over and the client gets to see the original vector logo).
That may sound strange, but don't worry, I believe almost every designer is pretty much committed to fine tuning a logo once a contest ends and they have full one-on-one contact with the clients.
Is there any combo of what I have done that you might want to see? Also, I think I may have put in too much emphasis on creating an icon which could be used as a stand alone component (referring to the "KC" mark). Should I just work on just a kart with the name before time runs out? Please let me know so I can jump on it before the contest ends. :)
No problem. I was going to ask about the spoiler. I located an old photo and was surprised to see a spoiler, but since I was using the photo for reference, I thought I'd leave it in. I'll modify the kart shortly and upload.
Really like this one! Can you just change the kart so it ends at the engine? We don't run rear spoilers or anything so it makes it look like a mini indy instead of a kart.
Hey! Still really liking this one. I think what may be throwing me off is the perspective of the kart. Any way to get this logo with the side perspective of the kart so it almost looks like it's driving away on that extended lower part of the "C"?
We can try adding a few lines a bit heavier. In fact there are some options I can try, like changing the weight of the type (though I kinda like motorsports logos to have some heft to reflect the power behind the sport). Another option might be to go larger on the kart so that part of it sits above the "C" portion of the KC. Does that make sense?
Overall how do you feel about the kart? Fortunately I have some photos of friend when he raced karts (we can only draw from photos that we or the client, "you" personally own the rights). This assures that you can fully trademark the logo without any copyright hassle. Lastly, if there is a photo that you personally own the rights, we could use that too.
Lastly, if you get a chance please feel free to review my profile, there are a few examples of some previous logos and work. Maybe there is a style or look you may want me to try.
Thanks for that info, good marketing and totally makes sense.
I tried a few more option based on #26 (I could also apply the new drawings to any of the other designs as well). If you'd like simpler yet, I can try a profile kart too.
I'm 3 hours behind you (Northern California) so you can catch me late if there is anything else you want me to try.
Right now the logos may be used together only b/c my DCX Motorsports has a brand and can help build Kart Carolina, but over time I will be separating them. So as long as they don't compete with each other visually they don't have to be too similar... but I get where you were going with it!
Sure, no problem. I looked at the DCX logo and thought that weight of the blue "X", this logo could use a bit of weight too. I'll try a simpler line versions. Do you prefer with or without a driver?

Do you prefer a more upright seated position too?

Maybe more of a true outline like the example I posted or like this: http://thumb7.shutterstock.com/display_pic_with_logo/704791/164593715/stock-vector-gokart-164593715.jpg ?
Not sure if that would work together so I may be completely wrong. You do more of this than I do (since I do none of this!)... thoughts?

I tried to keep the logos clean and simple. Please let me know if you like to see simpler, more detail or any changes what-so-ever.
Cheers!
