Here is my short explanation of design #38 #40

The idea behind it are came from your company history. I read it from wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karelia_Software
that "Karelia as the handcar in the way of the steam train that owns the tracks"

You can see in design #40, the dark green turquoise is a track, I mean abstract track, produced from the combination of 2 abstract letter "K" as initial company, represent of power and flexibility.

Karelia is a large software company i think, so it should have meaning for the new logo at a later date.
