I definitely like the trailing sakura branch. The reason I like the lower case j in #102 is that it's more distinct and would stand alone if I shorten it to "j brew" for swag.

Thanks for your entries.

Good to know, thanks. If you can think of anything I can do to improve these for you please let me know.

I like the coloring of #106. And although at first I was thinking I didn't want coffee cup references because it will be a full service café, I really like the sakura emanating from the cup!

I appreciate that you're making me think.

That's what I'm here for. Thanks!

Hard to tell at this size, but my blossoms have the starburst pattern similar to what you uploaded. You can most see it in #99. Thanks!

Thanks for the quick response. I'm being too picky, perhaps, but the roundness of your petals look more like plum flowers to me than sakura. It's a subtle difference but one my eyes pick up.

Also, in terms of numbers of flowers, I will be asking that the number included (for those with multiple) be 6 - two parents and four kids.

I'm still going back and forth with #107 as I like the coffee cup more than I thought I would, but I think the particular flower arrangement doesn't quite match..I understand this can be seen both as steam and branch, but as sakura typically aren't linear that way it doesn't do for me what I would like.

I really like the writing style in all your submissions. Thanks for your efforts.

Completely understand. Let me know how the new batch looks. I can easily work on the shape of the petal more if need be. The coffee cup design is actually my favorite. You get the wording that you like plus the added bonus of having a unique element than you can use in addition to the logo with which to brand yourself.

I understand about the linearity so I revised the design a bit. Hope you like it.

I like the new batches..I think playing around with the way they branch from the coffee cup will be needed, but your point about branding is very, very well taken.

Sounds good. If there's a particular branch that you like please let me know and I can see how it works with the cup.

#129 and #130 are fun. Either the J figure or the i figure is handing the cup to the other.

Client
I like the concept. I think I like #129 because the i figure looks more like a person handing it off.

Could you make the cup look a little more like the original "u"..more abstract, perhaps. I'm playing with it in my mind as you got me thinking about the branding with the cup and sakura..We'll have to play with the branching pattern a bit too.

Thanks for sharing your creativity.

I think I like the coffee cup best on its own.

There's something that's not quite right with the branching pattern..starts out thin in the cup, then gets thick, then thin branches. Anyway, I look forward to your top 5 revisions.

Good morning! Just uploaded some revisions and a new cup as well. Please let me know if there's anything else I can do for you today.

#159 is a new sakura design.

Thanks. I like the branching pattern in #159 more, and noticed the additional branch detail..how will this show up in print, generally?

I think I like the boldness of the original cups. Also, though I like the way the sakura at the end of the y frames things, it technically represents a 7th flower and I prefer to keep just 6, ideally on the same "tree".

I'd been thinking about the red stripe, and need to stare at that a few more times.

Thanks!

Also, how well do you think the "brew" in gray will show overall?

Logo Designer
The design should print fine. All logos are provided in vector format and can be printed at any size without loss of resolution.

#160 and #161 use the new branch and old cup, 6 flowers total.

The "brew" will print fine in gray, just depends on the background like any other color. It also looks good in red like I have here.

Hope that helps. Thanks!

The wider cup is growing on me.."fuller" in appearance, a bit more negative space.

If I could see #159 without the flower on the y and with different lettering/coloring for "brew" (perhaps a tad bolder, and red) that would be great. Thanks!

Some subtle color variation might be nice..it currently looks too fake.

Thanks for making the other revision!

Thanks for the additional submissions. I like the earlier ones better.

#107 is making a bit of a comeback..I realize it had 6 flowers all along, and two people whose opinion I respect had it ranked high.

If possible, I would like to see #107 with the red "brew".

Thanks!

Funny how these things come full circle. Just submitted the revision. Let me know if there's anything else. Thanks!

That was your first choice correct? Thanks for the revisions..I think I like the thinner font.

I think that it ties in the concept of your store better than a sakura coming out of the cup because it looks more like steam. What do you think?

I do like the understatedness of the grey..have you tried playing with other subtle colors for the brew? plum?

Logo Designer
Adjusted the steam/branches to match the style of the lettering and gave you options in gold, gray and plum. I kind of dig the gold.

Client
Hmm..I like the gold too.

Looking forward to the fine tuning over the next week.

I would like to see a couple of variations..as I may shorten it up to "j brew" for certain swag items, can I see that with the same color scheme? Alone, and perhaps next to (or under) the coffee cup.

Also, it looks like I can request a colored background...white makes the most sense here, but do you see any background that makes sense? Black background with white logo/lettering?

Logo Designer
Let me know how those look.

As for the background white will give you the most flexibility. The logo is completely editable, so any designer can change the colors if you ever need to use it on a dark background.

Thanks for the fast feedback. I was actually thinking about brew remaining in the gold with original lettering.

Also, I appreciate the information about the coloring.

Got it. So more like #195 and #196 then?

Client
Yes. I think I like it because the "j" stays distinctive in its style, and I do like the gold.

Thanks for doing that!

So I understand that the colors can be manipulated after the fact, but what about the image itself? Specifically, could I have a designer create #196 or perhaps the cup alone with the available file after the fact if I choose your logo as the winner, or is that something you and I would negotiate after the contest is complete (or later on)? Sorry, new to this, so a few logistical questions.

Logo Designer
No problem. If you went with any of my designs I would be able to provide you with files with and without the cup, so you would have everything you need. Another designer could also manipulate the image as needed. I do work with many of my LogoTournament clients after the project is closed (as do many other designers) if you need anything and don't have a local resource you use. Make sense?

Thanks again for your efforts! This is a logo I can be proud of and represents my vision for the cafe well. I've got 6 people in my family, and though in my mind it was close between yours and one other, the final vote in my household last night (including my 14 month old) was unanimous.

I will look forward to receiving the final files. As discussed, I would really like to have something like #196 as well as a cup on its own (with the underlying swipe, as per the parent logo). For #196, do you think the j is a tad big for the overall look?

Anyway, let me know the logistics at this point, and I thank you again for your creative work these past several days.

Jeff-

Thanks for the files. Hopefully you got what you needed from my end.

As for variations, I would appreciate an all black and white as well as inverted black/white (text in white, black background). Also, is there any need for .AI and .PNG formats?

I'll also wait to hear regarding the solitary cup/swipe as well as "jbrew" variation.

Very happy, thanks.
