Awesome, now we're really getting somewhere. A little busy, hard to see from 100' away, but it's a drawing and it's an architectural detail. Doesn't have to be blue and white though.
Great. You're getting there. Maybe a little too literal, even though I do like drawings. Look at the "LOOK AT THIS STAIRCASE" image that I uploaded and see if you can do something in the same vein with that.
I've drawn the basic outline for the stairs but I need to go sleep. I'll finish it tomorrow, it may not be ready until tomorrow afternoon, its not way too detailed but it is a fiddly thing to draw :)
Very nice. I'm as fascinated by the overall shape as by the details, which means I'm torn between a more stylized, iconic look and its present literal appearance. The balustrades almost look like ribbons of color. So many possibilities. Awesome.
i can try this in a more iconic look, but it definitely wouldnt look the same, it would be more blocks of solid shapes and would lose its hand drawn appearance. ill submit something iconic later tonight :)
#63 is more of an iconic feel. putting the entire double stairs into an icon would make it far too busy as an icon. So I have simplified it down to a more iconic form :)
Hi I'm just letting you know I have to take a break for most of today. I have partial insomnia and around once a week I get overcome with exhaustion and am pretty much unable to do anything for several hours. Once I've rested I'll get right back on it :)
Here is a couple more iconic-type logos using stairs as inspiration. I have an idea for one more iconic look that will look more hand drawn, this one will involve a door and pediment, but in a basic outlined way. I'll have it up ASAP :)
The stairs are getting frustrating, and may be a dead end. I think they present more challenge than I was expecting. One of the questions I have is whether an average person would view the graphic and know that it represents construction. You've worked hard on them and I'm grateful. It may be time to move on.
Hi! here is something similar to #71 . I think I may have an idea along the lines of the GAF logo and plumb bob, I have to sketch it out and see if it can work, if it can I'll have it uploaded in the morning :)
ill submit some more like 117 but with different letters, I'll also try letters in white on a colored background etc, as many variants as I can think of. My submissions should be in the morning sometime :)
Hi! heres my take on the GAF style mixed with the plumb bob. I went with a serif font for this one. Let me know if you'd like to see a sans-serif for it, thanks! :)
OK illumina, I've taken #128 out of the running. I want you to focus on #140. Give me a sanserif option, with and without the bob. Put the JG in the bottom of the box, or in the bottom right corner. Change things around a bit. After all this work, I'm really liking the super-simple logos. Check out Owens Corning's red box logo with the curved line going through it. Very simple.
1. You're going to think I'm crazy but I want to see #165 just as it is but with no bob. 2. But then I'd like to see the bob more exaggerated, wider. 3. #154 etc are awesome. Can I see some color variations? 4. #116 is back on the table also. We love the concept, but I don't like the letter G. Can you make its lower half match the J's curve, and then maybe give both letters a matching serif up top?
OK, first things first. Here are some variations of #165 both with just the square and with the bob at a couple of widths. I have to go eat but when I'm done I'll get started with variations of #154 etc and then make the changes to #116 ... im assuming you want the letters to be symmetrical, so I'll do that :)
#185 and #186 are a no-go. Let's drop that concept altogether.
The concensus is that #140 is the most likely out of your designs because the JG is so bold. I'd like to see some color variants - black, gray, red, maybe navy
#194 - love the fat letters, but the bob is looking like an urn. I don't want people to thing I'm a mortician. :) Can you put a point on the bob and perhaps bring it up the other side just a little?
Here are some colors for #140 and also #194 with the plumb bob shifted to the right, and some of the string made visible just to make sure it cant be mistaken for an urn :)
