I like your entries. I cannot adequately articulate it, but I would like a modification which suggest a high end, more sophisticated restaurant. James Tavern will not be the highest level of dining, but these suggest a middle end restaurant.
Looking at your entries, I like the ones ranked at the top most in this version. For #4, I like it and am wondering what it might look like as a verticle version - my restaurant has an opportunity to have a verticle sign on the storefront where the letters are stacked versus horizontal. The word "Restaurant" could be omitted, but perhaps the pig could be inserted. Not sure if it is the terms of this contest, but this version would be helpful. Any logo needs to carry several versions - signage, letterhead, business cards, etc. If you can, show me something along these lines using #4 as the idea.
In 2 & 3, could you play with the pig, make it more prominent, but not dominant? You should know that I own a farm nearby which will provide ingredients (vegetables, eggs, pork, poultry, etc). This is partly the reason for the pig.
Hi Jim, about your recent comments, here are the official terms of the contest:
"Private arrangements with Contest Holders are unacceptable. (Example: offering additional free services during the contest if they select your logo) It is fine for a winning Designer to offer additional services after the contest is over."
Also, I cannot show you anything else but the logo itself (no letterhead, signage,...): i could do this for you after the ending of the contest, and only if i will rank first.
However I will provide my best efforts to create the best logo I can. Thank you for your feedback and appreciation.
I forgot to mention this: if you are interested in seeing a vertical version of the logo, please post this request (on main contest page), so that also other designers could give it a try. I tell you this not only because it is requested by the rules, but also because doing so you will receive many other submissions: more logos more opportunities to choose! Thank you!
Thanks for sharing the rules - I want to play within those. I will paste a verticle request.
I like that you have made the pig a bit larger, but I want to see it more prominently. Search on "Blue Pig Tavern" in Cape May, NJ and see that logo. What would somethign a bit more like this look like? I am familiar with Mucca Design, they do great work for the big guys. I like their work there.
