let me know if you would like any variations on this entry (i.e., fonts, colors, additions, subtractions.) Thanks. Carla

Hi Carla,

I like where you're going with entry# 25. We like the colors being used in Rank #1

We would like to see more of higher education elements incorporated in the look. Something you would do for a college, something that says "higher learning" "private" "elite" education Also as an fyi, we rather not go with a daycare type of look with kids or graduation hats or books. These are cliche in our industry. We look forward to your work. Keep the ideas coming.

Thank You much!

thanks for the comments. The way they have set up the entries now (it's a new development), the designers cannot tell what the rankings are of other people's entries, therefore I can't tell which you have ranked first to judge the colors you want me to copy. I have taken a guess here. I am presently sort of stumped as to a symbol that isn't trite (ie the caps, people, and i would think stars. I considered trying to work in some math and/or science symbols, like infinity or pi or... but that didn't really work either. So for now, i am stumped. Maybe something will come to me before the end of the contest--you can never tell when an idea will pop in, but for now, I am sorry, but... again, thanks for the input. Carla

Thanks Carla,

Well for an idea, I do like what you did with Jakes Finer Foods logo. I like the blue looking swoosh or ring (the first design you did w/o the large star). It's accentuates the word "Excel" in education. Something our school represents. We are trying to get the contest extended. So I hope to see more designs from you.

Thanks

whoops. I think i read the note wrong. I just reread it and see you did not want the star. I'll work on another.

thinner banner, different secondary type

the banner is covering up the font letters. How about trying another font type. Not too fond of the block looking letters. Do you have any other ideas different than this?

Here is one with the banner in the back, which might help a little. Hard to add much of anything to this specific design and make it work because i think the simple lines of it was what made it work in the first place. (tried the pure swoop, etc., but because of the way the line comes from the a that holds the academy, it didn't work). I didn't really have any time to put in on new designs tonight; and i am not sure if i will have time tomorrow or not, but will try to see if I can kick out another unrelated design or two. If not, i have appreciated your input. Thanks. Carla

again, the circles stand for science, math, literature, but i forgot to mention the interlinking within the circles, which (i don't know if your philosophy of teaching is in the style of working in an interdisciplinary way or whether you teach your subject matter concentrating on one discipline at a time, but if you do the first the circles interlocking could reference that.
