This one is very compelling. I think if you can remove the green plot in the map background and instead of the yellow star pin use a pin that looks more like the actual pin that Google maps uses would make this a winner.

Also try adding smaller points at the 45 degree intervals between north, east, south and west amd maybe try a version without the compass in the lettering.
