#7 and #8 use a fantastic concept! Love the emphasis on furniture and accessories, and especially love the hand-written treatment of "Tracy K. Woods in #7. My only concern, though, is that neither logo makes it immediately obvious that I provide custom painting and paint-finishing services. To the general observer, I'm afraid these make me look like I am a decorator. How can we make painting/finishing the focal point? Overall, GREAT job!
#16 is head of the pack, and really, really close. I love that you've balanced the paint brush with one representative piece. The only thing I would say is that the chair is a bit too Victorian Era/ornate. I am thinking that something like a chest of drawers or roll-top desk might be better--especially since neither piece has fabric, and these pieces would further the point that I work on painting/distressing/faux finishing wood. I'll stop here and not comment on your other submissions, as I think this one underscores the direction I want to take. Great job!
I just made a new chair image, a wood kind. I like a chair because it's simple and iconic, which works well for a logo.
I am not able to do a chest of drawers. Another designer has done a chest of drawers before me so it's unethical for me to do the same. As far as the roll-top desk, if it was YOUR suggestion to the other designer, I can do it, if the designer has come up with the idea themselves, I can't do that either.
#16 Thanks for the explanation. Makes sense. Possible to thread the needle and come up with something between the green ornate and the office-looking roller chair? Maybe a chunky looking rocking chair, or possible a hutch? I don't want to look too dainty, but on the other hand, the office chair isn't a realistic example of something most people would spend money to distress.
#29 This is an interesting concept, and I'd like to see it developed a bit further. Right now, I'm afraid it makes me look like I simply stain wood; it would be better if you could somehow reflect that I paint and distress wood artistically.
Tracy, what kind of artistic work do you do on wood, it would be great to see an example or a description from you. You can even post an update to the contest with links to your work. It may convey a better sense of what you are looking for.
