Inside the "o"(in #5) is an open book traditionally associated with learning. Silver/gray, black or just plain white background would make the logo standout.
Could we see what it would look like without the book? This is the first time I've done one of these contests, so I apologize if that usually happens during Phase II of the contest.
I am having a problem getting comfortable with what have so far. You seem very creative. Do you have other out of the box ideas to help us achieve our goals.
We need to appeal to the students (6th through 12th grades, mainly in China) and their families and private schools in the USA. All aspects can be changed including changing the byline, eliminating the shield, etc.
We like many of your designs, in particular designs #5 and #7, and we think you're very creative with a terrific overall look to your logos. However, the more we think about it the more we think we should go back to the original concept with a shield, and that a shield divided into four quadrants would offer us the most flexibility. We could change out what appears in a few of the quadrants based on what country we're targeting. We also like the wording to the right of the logo, similar to #7, but with the first letter of each word bigger so that "IEO" stands out. Also, some of my colleagues have commented that the laurel leaves are too big in your designs, so maybe we could try it with smaller leaves or no leaves at all.
We really like your new ideas! A few comments. Our favorite is entry #105, but we think it might look better without the leaves at the bottom. Also, we like the sunburst at the top but are afraid that it will be difficult to see what it is when the logo is smaller, like for our business cards. Maybe adding some more white would help? We definitely prefer the writing on the right versus under the logo. Is there any way to change the overall shape of the red a little? It reminds us a little too much of a wine glass. Also, could we see it on the gray background?
Thanks very much for your contributions to the contest, they're really great!
