this actually my old design for other contest, didn't win but i think this is perfect for your company. it's a "tuna can" concept you mentioned on other designer, and if you look carefully it's actually an abstract I and S there. so it's perfect ;)

I couldn't tell the difference between #46 & #47. #48 is an improvement though. I know you loose some of the borders of the tuna can, but there's still enough to get the implication, IMHO. How about just a straight vertical flip of the logo? It would bring out the implied S a little more, and if there were some way to connect the vertical bars, you'd get the "I" too (which, if I had a more artistic eye, I would probably already be getting :)

bunch of new entries. ok the concept is to try to combine several items of your requirements: gear(s), initials I and S, data representation. you can see clearly the S, but there's also the I there (rotated 90 deg) not very obvious anyway. and if you see the negative space it represents the data in/out.

you can google gear logo, software gear logo, propel logo or anything but you won't find anything similar. it's original and has background thinking on it. everyone has gears and initials, it's common idea but the challenge is to use the idea and make it unique based on your own representation.

variation 3, using the negative space as I and S, note data in/out cannot be seen here.

#145 - you've accidentally hit the mother lode. All you have to do is modify the central hub to look like an attitude indicator [ http://www.sgsim.com/instruments/DSCN7662-Attitude-Indicator-300.jpg ] (see how it sort of also includes a tiny "I"), and basically rip off the data bits, [supplemental] shadowing, and fonts from Mare's #117, and we're done. But obviously, that puts us in a quandary (see my post on https://logotournament.com/forum/General%20Discussion/58). What do we do from here?

hey thank you for the feedback. so rry for the late updates, it's very difficult to connect to LT now, i don't know it's my ISP problem. i can only open local websites, overseas website is very very slow.

I think I have created some of this problem myself. After a night's reflection, I realize that Mare's #117 has always been 92% of the goal, so what about the missing 8%? That's when you came in with #145, which in reality did not actually hit the [missing piece] bull's eye, but was close enough that I could see it from there, and I got a little too enthusiastic about it. In the euphoria of finding the last piece, I lost sight of it's being, in fact, only the last piece. I was then distracted with how to effectively mash-up the two entries in such a way that neither designer gets slighted. I take responsibility for bad ranking, and know that it has set the project back, and mis-lead designers, and for that, I do humbly apologize.

I have taken special care to objectively rank the entries on their own individual merit, and not on their potential, or the order in which the components came together, or whatever emotional whim seems to affect me at the time.

Again, I'm sorry for the confusion, but in my defense, it is my first LogoTournament :)

That said, I do still support a broader distribution of the prize, and will do what I can to make that happen.
