As I teach the Middot to 6th graders at my synagogue... I love to do logo designs for B'naiMitzvah events. Especially in Israel.
Mazel Tov... I opted to put the name in Hebrew - IF the name is different just let me know or if you prefer different interpretation I am happy to oblige.

I like how you played with the shape of the star. Would love you to add in some of the other elements, the words curiosity, charity and celebration- make those words more important then Michael. Also if we could add the candle flame in somehow as well,

For logo 22, it is very interesting. I would like to add the three works as I told you above. Lets see how that works

The client would like to focus more on the fact that we are taking this great educational trip with the kids to isreal, and less about Micheal. Of course michael has to be in there, but less important. We are also taking this trip at Hanukah, so would love to see a nod to that

absolutely can do more... love that they are doing it that way. did you like the Michael in Hebrew or not?
Depends a lot on how observant the kids are partly. I know many of them don't want any Jewish reference at all and others are okay with it.

One question.. were the words introduced by you or by one of the designers? Just don't want to take another designer's idea

just a thought... the actual verbiage would be Michael becomes a Bar Mitzvah rather than he "has" or "owns" a bar mitzvah... as it is technically that Michael is a son of the commandments once he reaches the age of 13 ...

So you might consider not making it in possessive tense no matter which design you use.

but maybe check with your Rabbi or educator on that one - it might be different in your area just by 'custom' - I have found that sometimes it is regional.

"edgy" could be a lot of different things. I like the idea of the dove in the star and stylized ... have entered many different concepts for your consideration.

We came up with the words, as the trip will include education, a bar mitzvah celebration and a number of chesed projects, so we thought it would be nice to include those as the three focuses of the week. We are open for suggestions on the words if you have another idea. You have come up with some very interesting and complex design, which I love. I would like to send them to the client and then continue to work on the one she likes best.
Thanks for your work on this!!!

I also really love the one with the hands all coming together, its just missing something, not sure what. maybe the charity, celebration and curiosity should be in darker blue, and maybe instead of michaels name in the middle it should be the date, or a candle or something else?

Also think that the one with the hands doesn't have any solid colors , its all line art and not filled in, maybe thats why it is not popping, but I love the hands forming the jewish star. Would love to see that worked on more with some other options

I will work on this a bit more when I have time...
depends on the group..
are they reform or conservative? that actually makes a bit of a difference. Where are they from?
how about tzedakkah rather than charity - subtle difference but meaningful depending on how observant they are? but I like the 3 c's - any interest in Hebrew name//words?
What is the date?

What is Michaels Initials? maybe that is a better idea?

The group is actually orthodox, but modern orthodox. But they dont want the logo to be so heavily jewish, if that makes any sense. They are from New Jersey. I would like to come up with 3 words with the same letter, but haven't been able to - doesnt have to be C's. Tzedakkah is great, but do we have any other T words that would mean learning and celebrating? Could be Hebrew words, or could do three words with an M,sort of like for Michael. Like Mitzvah, and two others? Date is December 6-12.
As far as the designs so far, My client likes the hands the best, but doesnt love it. Likes the hands idea, but thinks that all of them are a bit too corporate and UJA like, and not fun, youthful and edgy and partyish enough. Needs to be more unconventional looking. She also wants to take it out of a circle shape.
SO, if we could somehow incorporate the hands coming together to be the star, and make it more unconventional, that would be better.

hmmm.... have to think on this one...
m words - made me laugh - midrash came to mind... michal's mitzvah midrash
...with purim on the horizon starting to think outside the box!
I love doing Judaic design so will work on it more.

here is a crazy idea - just brainstorming words starting in M that MIGHT be appropriate...

Now that over 2 weeks have passed I am curious if you still want any alternative options or if your client just has not decided or what?

Appreciate a response
