Hope you're open to something unique This is my abstract I and M icon, with a modern look, yet still with a celluloid/film feel. Let me know if you like it.
It makes me think of flying a paraglider or a kite. I like the fact that you are taking this in a new direction. The "IM" is a little busy, but I like the colors and I'm glad you used my new tag line. The others haven't really pursued this, but since you are on the edge of discovery for this project, try thinking of something that evokes social media or connectedness. #45 does this and that is why I like it so much at this point. I'm getting away from a literal or "trendy" depiction of video or broadcasting. I still think a triangle could still be used though... just not so in your face.
Through this process i've been thinking about how to communicate what I do in a more subtle way, yet the feeling you get from the logo is clear and communicates connectedness or shared experience.
It's interesting as these logos started coming in, I began to view my new upstart company a little differently or to see the bigger branding picture. I don't want my logo to be dated in 5 years.
I think working with the letters "IM" or "im" is a good boundary though. The letters play well together and there are lot's of design possibilities to explore. It's a good avatar, app icon, watermark way to go.
Ohh by the way... Power Corruption and Lies is one of the best albums of all time... :-) Isn't that what your avatar is?
