Here is the custom wordmark I came up with for you: clean and simple, but more importantly: eye-catching and memorable! Let me know your thoughts on layout and color, as I can easily change to whichever color(s) you prefer. Right now the shades are pulled directly from your current site, so the logo would match perfectly :)
I think maybe a bounding box feels like a good idea, also, I wonder if the gradient on "Daily View" is a bit busy...hmmm, I'll have to think about that part.

Bafflingly, Illinois Valley is not in Illinois, it's in Oregon :) I appreciate the icon though, I visited Illinois a few times :) I think I like the little less outer glow on the bounding box, and also the "DAILY VIEW" text, also it might be nice to integrate some black in there somewhere?
