Comment Activity gerrysweeney commented on #112 Withdrawn Thank you Michael, your efforts justified my responses, it was close and I am sorry there could only be one winner but I am very appreciative of the effort you made, so thank you. 7 years ago charcoal commented on #112 Withdrawn Hello. Thank you so much for taking the time to shoot me a message. It is greatly appreciated. I'm glad you have ended up with a design you're happy with, and glad that my efforts helped to seal the deal in some way. Your feedback during the project was brilliant — even on designs you did not favour. Kind regards Michael 7 years ago gerrysweeney commented on #112 Withdrawn Hello. I am sorry to tell you that the consensus my end was majority in favour of the other design so I am afraid this time you have not been successful. I would like to thank you very much for your participation and submissions in this contest. Thank you. 7 years ago charcoal commented on #113 Withdrawn All good. I appreciate you took the time to review! :) 7 years ago charcoal commented on #112 Withdrawn Hello there. I was out of the office on my phone. I have just re-read your last comment. I can confirm that the final files would be vector — that is a file that can be edited in Adobe Illustrator or other vector compatible software. A PSD is a Photoshop file, which is pixel based so not quite the same thing. However, having said that, the logos can be saved in layers as vector elements, so they can be scaled up and down without losing quality, as long as they're not converted to pixel elements. Sorry to get technical but this is important so you keep that high quality in any logos saved off the PSD. In short, the answer is yes. Any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch. 7 years ago charcoal commented on #112 Withdrawn Vector as master files and PSD or high res JPEG where applicable, yes. 7 years ago charcoal commented on #112 Withdrawn Hello. Absolutely. Anything you need in terms of options and file types is no problem at all. 7 years ago gerrysweeney commented on #112 Withdrawn Hi, I am down to the final two, of which this design is one. Thank you for participating in my logo design tournament. Can you please conform that if selected as the winner you will be able to provide the final design in the five variants as specified in the brief, and that you can provide the design files which must be vector designs so I can scale them for print or other media or modify them as required. I presume these would be PSD files? 7 years ago gerrysweeney commented on #113 Withdrawn This does not work well, looks like there is a missing border :) 7 years ago gerrysweeney commented on #119 Withdrawn Thanks for these variants, I prefer the other styles so will exclude 7 years ago gerrysweeney commented on #117 Withdrawn Thanks for these variants, I prefer the other styles so will exclude 7 years ago charcoal commented on #119 Withdrawn Bar containing text is same colour as "HORNBILL". Colour box at the end is changed out for each level. 7 years ago charcoal commented on #109 Withdrawn Thanks, I hope it helped to compare both. 7 years ago gerrysweeney commented on #109 Withdrawn Thanks, I prefer the other variant as the icon and logo text now look like two separate elements. 7 years ago charcoal commented on #109 Withdrawn Bigger icon. And bar colour relates to icon also. 7 years ago charcoal commented on #98 Withdrawn No probs, thanks for taking the time to review. Yes, looks a little clunky against the others, in hindsight. Getting there! 7 years ago charcoal commented on #103 Withdrawn If it was worth doing, I could combine the slimline text of the my design (ranked third at present) with this bar treatment all the way across. 7 years ago charcoal commented on #108 Withdrawn Great, let me know if there's anything you'd like to see. Thanks for the message. 7 years ago gerrysweeney commented on #103 Withdrawn This is quite nice, definitely a contender. 7 years ago gerrysweeney commented on #108 Withdrawn These are much nicer..... hmm something to think about, will rank. Thank you 7 years ago gerrysweeney commented on #93 Withdrawn The inside rounded corners dont work as well as the more simplified variations submitted. Thank you 7 years ago gerrysweeney commented on #98 Withdrawn Thanks for the submission, this does not work very well IMHO, thank you for the submission though 7 years ago charcoal commented on #108 Withdrawn These new designs are a development on the original 'sharp' design — now with a rounded shape which creates a connection between the logo and partner. 7 years ago charcoal commented on #100 Withdrawn New options — the color bar with upward pointing ends softens the bar and ties in with the rounded icon. The Partner text is not overwhelmed by the Hornbill logo, rather, there's a pleasing balance. 7 years ago charcoal commented on #91 Withdrawn A new batch — sympathetic to the rounded logo icon. Condensed but boxy text style ties in with Hornbill text style. 7 years ago charcoal commented on #84 Withdrawn Great, thank you for the very specific feedback. That'll enable me to review and revise and offer a new solution. Much appreciated. 7 years ago charcoal commented on #83 Withdrawn I can review the whole set based on this much longer one. I didn't want to condense the text on this one to accommodate. I'll take a look at a review. 7 years ago gerrysweeney commented on #84 Withdrawn Thanks for the submission, its a nice design alternative. Two problems I had with it, the fist was it does not work well when the sub-text wraps onto a second line and I have one where it has three words as you have seen. The second point is more around the boxing, it comes over very sharp an in a way dominates the icon. 7 years ago gerrysweeney commented on #83 Withdrawn It does not work well though when the strapline wraps 7 years ago gerrysweeney commented on #86 Withdrawn Nice alternative design concept, thank you 7 years ago charcoal commented on #84 Withdrawn This applies to my five entries (one for each partner level). I have designed a box graphic that has an angled look to relate to the angle of the Hornbill logo. It gives it a dynamic look that is eye-catching. Any feedback is very welcome and appreciated, so that I can make any adjustments. 7 years ago
