Hi. I'm submitting to logo concepts for your contest. The first one is a heart that represents compassion and a home, with a heart on it's left breast side that symbolizes love, then a window inside that to represent housing. It's clean, simple, very unique and professional. It also works in just one color, which any good logo should.
The second concept features 3 cute little kid shapes, in the colors you suggested. This one also works perfectly in just one color.
I've included a black only version of each to demonstrate this one color feature. I wouldn't use the logo in black and white, unless you have to of course... like if you were printing from a copier or laser printer.
