Discussion

Hi The Day,
I like these. Thank you for your contribution!
I like the increasing vertical bars in #19 and how it gives the growth feeling. That being said, I also like how you gave a similar feeling with the one bar in #20. I really like how you incorporated the puzzle piece in it and have it also breaking away as it ascends!

I am thinking that the yellow may be too light a color to use it for an entire word.I wonder if a green or a purple would clash. Also I wonder if would it look better if the slogan "always the best value" were larger and fit between the hanging p and g. Hey, what if #20 had the yellow ascending square in green or purple and the word marketing in the same or differing color? I've heard a few things about color symbolism but don't know too much. I'll have to make sure I don't go with what I personally like the best if it is not the best for the small to medium sized business owner. Any wisdom you have to share in this area would be appreciated.

I do miss the shaking hands (from the simple thing I created, shown in my samples) My thought was hoping to implying a mutual agreement and positive trust between each other. But maybe by trying to include some remnant of them would be too much or just wouldn't look good. Just a thought.

Hi Rob,

Update as your request, change yellow to green or purple, that color are good when combined with the blue #21 and #22. I am still work with your contest, and update my entry as soon as possible, now I am thinking about insert shake hand to a logo.

Hi Jefry,
Thank you!

I don't know if you should spend time on it at this point, but if we did go with something like #19, #20, or #21, I'd like to see what it would look like starting with #20 I wonder how it would look if Marketing were changed to green and maybe or maybe not with it faded similar to Helpful and changing just the exploding top right puzzle piece to, hmmm, red?

Thanks again!

I want to share with you about color, I hope you don't mind
Blue is color of professional, truth, friendship, and moderation
Green is color of growth, learning, harmony, and balance.
Yellow is color of panic, nervousness, exhaustion, sharper memory and concentration skills
Orange is color of vitality, endurance, creativity and luck
Red is color of prosperity, joy, interest, and energy
Your color combination on brief is well and I am suggest the alternative color is blue, green and orange.

Jefry,
I really like what you've done and your ideas!
Here are my thoughts.

I like red for its eye catching ability (as McDonalds has done) but it does seem to clash a bit. So, I like your graduated orange as you did in #29 & #45 better. I like the shadow on #29 and I like the way #45 is resting on its left corner so that the right corner is lifting up as the eye moves toward the name. Also, I do like shadows and I like the shadow around the logo in #45 but I think it looks cleaner without it. I think the shadow on the floor where it's resting would give it just the right touch.

Now, on to the box.
I love the way you created a puzzle piece out of the part that is exploding away. That being said, I also want to convey the concept of component parts working together fully integrated as a well oiled machine and thus creating the compound positive effect, the increased power of synergy working together. So, could we turn the other three quarters of the box into three puzzle pieces as well, but still together?

Regarding the bar chart, I love it too. I just want to be sure that the arrow in the exploding piece lines up with the rest of the bar chart. Maybe we could move it slightly to the right and perhaps slightly pulling away. I know that would mean that it doesn't line up perfectly with the right edge, but I think it would give a better appearance of lining up. As far as the arrow itself, I'm not sure which is better.

Regarding the graduation in the box. I like the shading in #45 and how the half moon shape is more noticeable, but I like the darkness of the green better in #29. I noticed in #29 the darker green is at the top whereas in #45 the darker green is at the bottom. Perhaps we can work with #45 design and yet have the green get darker toward the top.

Again, I am truly impressed with your ideas, your abilities and your listening to and working with me!!!

Darn! I thought I sent this yesterday! I just saw I had left this browser window open and never clicked "Post Comment".

Hi Jefry,
I really like your work!
I hate turning any down, I feel like I'm rejecting the person.

For this business, I believe I am going to go with a logo that uses the letters H & M and includes some sort of a hand shake theme. One that will convey the effectiveness of connecting people, the compounded synergistic results of successfully connecting people through teamwork. IE: Helpful Marketing helping the business owner promote his/her business so he/she can focus on running the business. And the trust of one another to do as each said as in the hand-shake agreement. (IE: A man's word is his bond, win/win.)

Your #78 comes the closest to this theme. But since I can only choose one at the end, I fear yours may only come close.

More on really liking your work. I really like your puzzle theme as you have done in so many variations.

What are the rules after the campaign is over? The reason I ask is that in case one of your great works doesn't make #1 Is there a way we could work together creating a logo for another of my businesses? I'll later need a logo for Helpful Stuff.
