Since we have always had the African umbrella tree in the logo, just curious how it would be with all green. (Although I like the color scheme it introduces)

This is creative. I like how it refers to the tree, but focuses on the kid. I like the colors. Does it convey Africa? How would this look for a horizontal situation?
