We also liked the colour combination. We would love to hear your thought process for the Lion image and why you went with this icon for the design.
Hi The lion being the leader, in its field is an icon or symbol of excellence and leadership. The Immediate surface behind the lions face represents an abstract globe signifying its importance worldwide. The next thin golden line refers to hope and success of the conference globally. The unique shape of the outer ring refers to the spotlight it puts on each participant in the conference. I will submit a few revisions in black and white prints to show you how this might look in paper.

Thank you very much ---we really like your way of representing the lion!!!! any other symbols besides animals that you think would work well to represent excellence and leadership---we would love to see other ideas you have......a lion is classic for sure but are there any other symbols you could try with the purple/gold
