Too subtle. The emoticon, while happy and technical, doesn't speak to the mission of the business. More of the logo should be engaged in expressing the mission.

what exactly is the mission?

See the contest brief. Maybe I should have said "messaging" instead of "mission." Is #13 supposed to be Einstein? If so, it's not what I'm looking for. I really like #12, however. I'd like to see some variations of it. E.g., different placements of words and happy face in relation to one another. Different fonts. Maybe with the brains spilling out slightly. Maybe a "happy brain" instead of a happy face with its brain exposed (whatever that would look like). Anyway, #12 is best of the bunch, so far.

Hopefully I am on somewhat of the right track...

Yup. #23's my favorite. Can you do one with the text on an upward arc so it looks vaguely like a smile (with the happy face above, as it is now)? Also, one with the text arcing down (with the happy face below)? Also, some jiggle lines around the brain? Is the font commercially available? Oh, and please add some space between happy and cortex so they're two words, not one.

yes the font is available commercially, I purchased it from a website (unknown at the moment but I will see what I can find.) As for the squiggle lines, what exactly would you like the brain to look like it's doing?

I am sure I will have some posts up before I hear...
