Here are my submissions #35, #36, #37, #38.... Hopefully pleased. Please feel free to contact me for any requests. And please let me know if you need any changes on my entries. Thank you! Best Regards,
Nice concept and looking forward to more of your creative ideas! Some specific comments on these treatments are that I like how you're thinking of working the logo either as a positive (37) or negative (38) image. I can see the event team using it both ways. Clever! And it's visually arresting how you blend the event type with the boat hull. Now I'd like to see you work it into one of the two "target" boats for the event, either a sailboat or a trawler-type power boat, as described and linked in the Brief comments. And please continue to review my on-going high-level general comments and tips, made to the entire group in the LogoTournament Brief. These are very important. Great job so far! Thanks and best, Mark
Hi, I haven't received a response from you and wonder if you had decided to drop out. I'm down to my "Top 5" phase and will have to be judicious about whom I keep working with. Are you still interested in this contest and, if so, what hours (United States east coast, -5 hours GMT) will you be able to work on it and submit? I like your work and will try and rotate you in for your next submissions if you wish to participate.
GREAT! Thanks! Didn't want to lose you there. You'll have to look up the types and boats and re-stylize for the hull and text so just let me know when you're ready and I'll rotate you in. Thanks again!
I think it's amazing how you all can service the world as well, and as seemingly effortlessly, as you do. Good one onya as the Aussies say!
I spoke with the group last night (believe me, that was interesting!) and I had them look at your portfolio. They liked your work and are excited to see your next iteration.
I've moved you into the Top 5 now so you can submit.
Another point that was made is that in a lot of the different designer's submissions, the text reads as city, then event ... versus the event, which is held at a city. Too much emphasis on the city name. They'd like to see Hampton Snowbird Rendezvous, the H S and R, of "near" equal visual prominence.
Darn! I jumped the page earlier looking at something as I was typing a comment to you and it went off into the ether ... and I didn't realize it until just now. Must not have hit Post Comment. Sorry.
Much much better working the sailboat in and getting the three event lines more balanced out! As they say here in the States, "Now we're cooking with gas!"
Here's a tip: I'm noticing that the group has been strongly preferring more solid and simpler designs. This is a really cool design and I'd suggest that you simplify the lines and gradations thus making it a little more heavy, less feminine and "swashy" if you know what I mean.
Gosh, how do you folks ever interpret what we laypeople try and explain? Thanks again! :-)
GREAT job! I like how you added the sphere and more color. So I think you're good to go. I'll give you back your life (at least for a couple days!). I'm very impressed by your design and I think we'll now just wait on the committee's input before doing any more work. I have a telecon tentatively scheduled with the team Saturday morning. Let's see what they think!
Just an update: Got with two of the committee this a.m., expect to be able to herd the rest of the cat's tomorrow. I'll get back to you tomorrow night most likely with what everyone thought. Have a GREAT weekend!
Hi IM Cahyadi! Thanks for working so hard on our logo. It was a really close contest and you should know that a lot of the folks really liked your design. My wife, Diana, founded a citizen-science project for seabird conservation and we're going to do a logo for her later this year. You can bet that you'll get an invite and I hope that you'll choose to enter that contest. Look for an invite from me and the SeaBC Seabird Count. Best and thank you again, Mark (mark@onthewaterchartguides.org)
