Nice designs and looking forward to more of your creative ideas! Only specific comments on these two particular ideas are that I really like the light and dark treatment of 'snowbird' and 'rendezvous' in Entry #19. Maybe now "background" the text with an event-representative icon. The icon to the left of the text block is too abstract, though, I think. Need to really dumb this down and make any icon self-evident. The event won't have the funds to burn icons into a viewer's memory so a sail, or boat, or whatever has to lean toward being more real than abstract. Also please continue to review my on-going high-level general comments and tips, made to the entire group in the LogoTournament Brief. These are very important. As an example, you'll find some comments about "too wide" and masculinity, or what ends up wavey type germane to Entries 15-18. Great job so far! Thanks and best, Mark

I like this build. Nice job! But you still have the "wrong" type of boat for this group and event. Let's see if you can work a trawler-type boat or a sailboat into your ideas. Thanks again!

MUCH nicer with the abstract sailboat! It's a bit weak now, with all of the light blues on white paper or white displays. Can you think of any way to increase the contrast and impact?

I personally like this one better. Thanks! Entries 40, 24, and 67 will definitely give the group enough "views" of this concept to see if it makes it to the next round. I guess that starts tomorrow? How does that work exactly, it says moving on to 5 designers? Oh, and do you have another concept you want to throw out there?

Just an update: Got with two of the committee this a.m., expect to be able to herd the rest of the cat's tomorrow. I'll get back to you tomorrow night most likely with what everyone thought. Have a GREAT weekend!

Hi makinson! Thanks for working so hard on our logo. It was a really close contest and you should know that a lot of the folks really liked your design. My wife, Diana, founded a citizen-science project for seabird conservation and we're going to do a logo for her later this year. You can bet that you'll get an invite and I hope that you'll choose to enter that contest. Look for an invite from me and the SeaBC Seabird Count. Best and thank you again, Mark (mark@onthewaterchartguides.org)
