Nice design and looking forward to more of your creative ideas! Only specific comment on this particular idea is that it may be too busy. Although I can picture it on a t-shirt, I'm having a hard time seeing it in B&W or reading it when it's small (like for web use). Also please continue to review my on-going high-level general comments and tips, made to the entire group in the LogoTournament Brief. These are very important. As an example, you'll find some comments, including one on "type of boat" germane to Entries 2-3. Sport-cruisers or sportfishing boats are the "other guys." :-) Great job so far! Thanks and best, Mark
Yes, much! I especially like the text in 53, stacked and higher contrast/impact. But I also like the defined waves of 52, and the sun "swoosh" and sea birds of #51. You probably get that rather often ... when a client likes certain parts of multiple treatments of a concept! I know better than to ask you to cobble 1 + 2 + 3, it would break your design and we'd just end up with a mess, but maybe do some "twists" on these three different treatments for the group to look at. And, again, not just trying to smudge together different parts ...I can see that you've definitely got different themes going here ... 51 is simpler and more refined, 53 is more fun and "in your face", and 52 is kind of in between. Nice!
I just got off the phone with the group (believe me, that was interesting!) and here's what everyone would like to see for your next iteration. As you would imagine, some people liked a certain aspect of one of your treatments and others like another aspect. As best as I can interpret this, the stacked text in 53 was highly preferred but a couple people thought that 53's style looked "unfinished." I know that's a style these days, with the shifting color plates, but can you see if you can tighten up the graphic a bit?
Thank you! I think you made exactly the changes the group will need to see their ideas. I'll get back to you if they want to see anything else tweaked. Best, Mark
Not sure if you see me moving some of your submissions around in the rankings or not ... but wanted to keep you apprised of what's happening.
Like I said before, I think you're good to go for now. I'll give you back your life (at least for a couple days!). :-)
I'm very impressed by your design and I think we'll now just wait on the committee's input before doing any more work. I have a telecon tentatively scheduled with the team Saturday morning. Let's see what they think!
Just got off the phone with the committee and they really liked your design! I think they're going to choose you or one other designer! They asked me to have you tweak 106 to "have a little 53 in it." In other words, can you please shift the color "plates" just a bit (BUT not as much as in 53) to give it back that 53 style? They like the new boat and the new lines of varying thickness (in 106), so that's all good ... just a pinch of color shift for style. Maybe show me two different "moves" and we'll pick. Thanks again!
Hi During judging mode only ranked number 1 designer is allowed to submit new entries, i would like to upload a new entry based on your request but it can be possible only if you rank me as first place to get new entries from me, thanks.
Everyone really likes your design! I have one last "tweak" I'd like you to make so that we can choose between your submissions. The design of 168 is our favorite but the blue of the left sail in 167 may look nice in 168. Can you please make the left sail in 168 the same color as the left sail in 167 for us? And we'd also like the word 'Rendezvous' to not fade into the background-white as much. Can you please make that orange a bit darker? I recognize that it's probably the same orange as the sun ... and the sun should NOT get darker (leave as is) ... but the white space around the word Rendezvous makes is appear lighter. One of those visual adjacency effects, I think. Thanks again!
Congratulations! Thanks for working so hard on our logo. Everyone really liked the changes and I've just picked you as the winner! We may want some other design work in the future so please make sure to send me your email address.
actually, i just thought of something. better if you put the illustrator .ai file in the folder then i can change the sun, or type, or whatever colors myself for the group. that would actually be better than the .eps that i would have to ungroup, then ungroup, then ungroup, then ungroup... :-) let me know if you think that's a good idea also. best, mark
