Reason to choose the sunset as the main logo theme: I think that when it's about a vacation on Gulf Coast I think we should target person's soul. That dreamy part that wish for a runaway from the busy daily life ... somewhere far away where nobody can harass you and you can devote yourself to pleasure, beautiful sunset, cocktails etc... I just can't think of something more romantic and dreamlike than the sunset. I avoid drawing a daily sea because of the bad association of a crowded beach with noisy kids. It's all about basic associations.
