Try this. Remove the arrowhead and connect the shaft of the arrow to the white part of the wave. So, the wave becomes the arrowhead.

Have you seen pictures of a jet breaking the sound barrier. The nose of the jet is just behind the wave, The nose is creating the wave. That is what I want.

I like the arrowhead touching the wave. Just make sure the arrowhead is touching the leading part of the wave. Move the arrow down or move the wave up. Or slightly change the shape of the wave so that it is leaning at the same angle of the italicized letters

This is very interesting to me. A couple of thoughts. 1) It may be difficult for some people to immediately grasp that the last character is an 8. Not sure how to remedy that. 2) Try making the curved portion the front of the arrow. Not sure that the white arrow will work, so see what you can do with that. This is a great display of transformation to my eye
