I had to slightly exaggerate the curves to get the effect as the curve from the bridge and the curves on the logo were pretty close.

Can you make the curve of the bridge cables more pronounced, similar to the picture of the bridge that was sent. nothing else
needs to be added or taken away.

This is a bit more abstracted version. Lower section also represents reflection in the water.

I looked ate reference you provided, yoir husband and yoirself do have a keen eye for detail. I hope i interpreted yoir comments correctly. so i got the the stalks at ends and center at the sane height. Where you say focus on the barley and not make it round i am thinking that you want them in a straight line and not staggered like in the previous uploads and the center span is indeed 4 times the length of the ends. For us to achieve that we will have to put more pieces in the center this is going to affect the visual balance however. I will upload shortly with a wider center span so you can get a actual look at it.

We have a board of people that have selected yours and another, they have commented that its awesome but not quite perfect.. We have to live with this logo, so I hope you understand that we want it perfect.

Center of bridge stalks, are the same as the end stalks in height. The center is 4 times wider than the end.
When edge ends it needs to be the same height as the center.
if you can just focus on getting the barley, and not change into circles etc, keep this font as is. Don't change!

Makes perfect sense. I believe the impression of tge bridge will be enough to drive home the point. i will work on more variations as soon as i i get home from work.

bare with me. I would stick with your first concept. but make the barley more defined. staying away from the circular feel.
Some people get that its a bridge, some don't. so do you make the barley more detailed , to make it look more like a bridge? does that make sense?

Thanks for your feedback, i am happy that the design is to your liking. Please see the newly uploaded files. I have made it with a stronger resemblance of the bridge. And added graphic representation of the water below the bridge to further put things into context.
I want to give some other colour options and try to further refine the logo but i have a very limited time window today. Hopefully i am back from work today before the contest is closed.

Just wanted to let you know your logo is getting the best response from our friends, if there is a way to show that there is a bridge and if at all possible alternate color schemes that would be amazing. We are almost there!

Like how clean this is, the barley bridge needs more detail, its hard to tell its a bridge. the idea is great.
