While i don't recommend using gradients in a logo, here is a version with gradients.

This is just the current 2nd ranked design with the icon's colors inverted.
Let me know what you think about my recent submissions.

Inverted the colors in the icon (except for the sun). Modified the last building on the right and moved the sun a bit so there's an 'i' aswell. Now you have GMI in the icon.

Added an 'm' to the G here. Buildings back to all gold for this one.

I agree. No 3d fx/shadows/anything too complicated. It may look nice on a big screen but not too nice on a tiny business card :). Any more modifications you can think of the better! I love your work!

Small change to the G in this one.

Done. Modified the G and changed the color. I suggest you avoid gradients, shadows and 3d effects. Whatever you go for, keep it clean and flat, you'll thank me later.

Can you try doing the G without it being wavy? Also, I feel as if the yellow you picked is more towards the orange spectrum. Can you try getting it to be more towards a goldish shimmer?

I like the layout could you try different fonts for the name?
