hey kent, i like what i am seeing .. i like how you used the sewing machine and thread. can we make it less noticeably though? i prefer to have these symbols very discretely .. so you really have to look up closely in order to see what the symbols are! i am looking forward to seeing your next designs!! love how you incorporated the two letter G's.
So I love entry # 188. The other 2 not as much. So I would like to see several options with #188 1. Image without spool of thread 2. A design underneath the sewing machine (keep it clean though) 3. Put the spool of thread somewhere else that is not too in your face.
Great! I was wondering if you could make the font a bit more prominent. I still want it in the style of modern n20 but just a bit bigger in proportion. See my logo at www.georgine.info.
I Have conducted a focus group and found that people are 20/40 your logo vs the wax stamp look... Personally you delivered basically what I was looking for the first try and won my heart.... I love the logo but need to respect my clientele and therefore have to come up with an alternative before i pull the trigger. I cannot use the wax stamp look because it just came to my attention that victor and Rolf use the same look. They too are a fashion house and therefore I am not interested in leaving myself vulnerable for people to draw comparisons. Considering you high level of creativity I am seriously counting on you to deliver the following!
I want to make a logo like a vintage postcard stamp. please see these links for inspiration:
i like #225 the best but i dont like how you just put your previous design inside of it. i would like to see some more variations that are slightly different and also slightly cleaner.
i would like to see more of an old and vintage-esque paper on the background. i was thinking it could be cool to have a needle with thread holding the stamp on the right side corner... plus i also sent you some the inspirations because i like the feel of them; e.g. the stamp over the stamp in the corner , it all looks pretty old .. has a handmade feel to it...
Ok so i showed your logo to some people ; everyone finds the stamp over the stamp plus needle/thread on the stamp way too much. I love it but I have to listen to my audience. Everyone seems to be drawn to something circular. I absolutely love the wax stamp, it looks extremely cool but there is this other fashion house that uses a wax stamp for their logo so I feel guilty using their idea... what can we do to have your logo inside of something circular with the same feel as the wax stamp has now?
I like the logo I created and I consider the wax seal and stamp versions to be applications of that logo. The stamp look could be an interesting look for your contact page or email. Other circular uses like a branding iron, but tht doesn't really fit your line. The wax logo is not unique to that other company so if you really like it you should use it. I will work on some more looks. Sorry if my typing isn't the best, I'm on my iPad. Thank you - Kent
Hi Georgine, I see that you extended the contest, I thought we were almost there with my design. I really want you to have the best design. I'm also here for you long after the contest if you ever need anything. I have over 20 years experience.
Hey Kent, yes they extended the contest for 3 extra days because one of the top 3 designers was pulled from the contest so they thought it was fair to give me some extra time. Thank you for your kind words and yes I am very confident with your design work! I have been sharing some of the best logo's amongst employees and friends and everyone is drawn more to something inside of a circle .. no one is offended by your logo (either love it or dont mention it) where as with other logos if people dont like it they point it out very strongly. So that is a good thing!
on another note i wanted to ask you if you can make a simple vintage stamp with the two G;s you have right now in the logo (minus the sewing machine and rest)
some people pointed out to me how it is important to have a clean logo so people will remember it faster....
anyhow, thanks again and i am looking forward to seeing the rest of the designs!
Thank Georgine. I too think a clean logo is best like #222. But usages can vary greatly. Real clean and crisp when visibility is most important and when used for other instances like cover of a brochure it might be embossed or look like a rubber stamp or an actual wax seal. I will make more variations that you have requested. I won't stop till your happy. Happy Thanksgiving!
Can we please see a couple variations. 1. Georgine lettering with just the sewing machine as an image 2. entry 276 without any boarder 3. entry 270 with less wax overflow 4. Finally Georgine with the G calligraphy and only sewing machine... (no scissors)
back to the drawing board ... i am sorry but this has been such a learning process for myself. most things i like and your creative attention i really like but the basic consumer just doesnt get it. some people dont see it is a sewing machine inside or two g's or a needle. i like that about your logo; to look and discover new things but lets be honest the average consumer will spend about .2 seconds looking at it.
so i think ive come to the conclusion to go back with the vintage post stamp (square or round) with a calligraphy style G inside of it, either 1 or a combination of 2.
you may also use some color if you like ... i definitely think black is strong thats why most luxury brands use it but i also like more of a vintage feel ... perhaps black/tan or creme color.
make it work! (sorry inside joke) looking forward to seeing the new designs!
First place looks very close to a too several of mine. The sewing machine in some of my entries is almost hidden, just part of the overall look. I will do whatever it takes.
heye kent , i lile the new entries but i believe they should be cleaned up. please get rid of the stamp over the stamp and can we do something new for the inside .. i would like to try something cleaner and more basic for inside of the circle in the stamp. i like the two G;s like 338 but think it is too hectic for inside of the stamp.
perhaps we can put a small sewing machine in the right hand corner (like the currency)
and just have a G in the center with a circle around?
yes i like the new entries :) you mentioned about the old looking vintage stamps, should we clean them up a bit? also, can we take away the ("currency") sewing machine in the right hand corner? also, lets put GEORGINE underneath the stamp. I think it still looks too crowded.
kent, one more thing, can we try some other fonts? something lighter and perhaps taller/higher letters. perhaps a sans serif could work well. Are you designing your own fonts? thanks again
I hope you like my latest entries. Seems like lots of others are being inspired by them. I really want to be your designer on this. I'm also here for you long after the contest ends if you ever need anything.
Are you living in Asia now or just there on business? I'm really hoping that my designs will make it to your final selection. I really have a good feeling about them. I think my designs are a great match to the artistry in your work.
yes i do my production out of asia; bangkok to be precisely...
so i really want you to win because you've been busting your ass to say the least.
but i am not a big fan of the round ones. i like 461 and 462 the best.. lets work a bit more on these. can we try some other colors? i think the creme and black almost looks slightly dirty or something. cant explain it. i think the heart in the top is a bit cheesy. also, lets get rid of the circle around the two g's to make it a bit more cleaner.
