Ok .. got it, I did like this one the best so far, but I was thinking the green around the phrase like you had in the #3. But again, it's still a bit Cliche', seems like everyone has a spine or something related... it's not a "different" kind of logo...

i'm working on it :)

Client
Hey I appreciate that you're working on it! :),

We're definitely getting there now, the hands create a much better feel for it. In Chiropractic the hands are generally actually adjusting the spine, sort of with one hand on the spine and the other hand kind of crossing on top of the hand that is contacting the spine. does that make sense? I wish I could take a picture and show you...

Know what you mean., i'm approaching the subject. There are the hands and the colors and the fonts and the clients subjectivity..
I'm touching the subject like your touching spines. Will improve the hands.
Don't worry btw, many talented designers will join this contest.

This is just a rough, i'll post a clean one tomorrow, it's late and i'm exhausted :)

I can imagine, but THANKS... you're great.. and we're definitely getting there.. I love this process. It's the second time I've used logotournament. Sleep well.

Thank you.
I'll post a few alternatives tonight, in the mean time you could tell me if you wish any kind of changes or improvements.

Client
Ok, thanks, is it possible to make the hands look more real? like the hands on the Statue of David? kind of like real hands doing an adjustment? We're on the right track though.

Logo Designer
Sure, it will take some time though

Client
I kind of like the colors in #8 as well.

Okay, i took new pictures of my hands, i'm the chiropractician for a while :)
i will post later with a few color variations

It's not Mihelangelo yet, but i hope it's better.
I'll try another technique for the hands tomorrow.

is for the view not for the ranking :)

LOL, I like the MichaelAngelo comment, on the picture #20, perhaps the hands being completely the flesh color, as it is it sort of looks like their bruised, do you think? What about a different position with Geist Chiropractic? Perhaps across the bottom or something? I don't know, love the process though. Sleep Well.

Client
And perhaps you can work only on the hands and spine part. I'm just trying to figure out how I'll put this whole thing on a business card and on letterhead and envelopes? Any ideas?

#25 Will go a path like this now

Client
I like this one the best so far, Seems like it would be better suited for letter head, business cards and Envelopes. Definitely a different logo than I've seen in other chiropractic offices. We're getting there don't you think? How do YOU like it? Does it make you think it's a chiropractic office right away or a little too much?

Logo Designer
I like the hands so far, and their current position, it really feels/looks like a healing pressure.
Actually i'm not very happy with the spine, it looks too raw in my opinion. And i'm sure a female audience won't feel appealed by the all the bones. i'd like to represent the spine in a more gentle way with lines and maybe a few white silhouettes of the bones etc... well, let me try. And of course, i think it looks like a chiro office otherwise i wouldn't do it that way :) Anyway i'll keep posting

Client
Great, I'm with you , I like the hands so far as well although I've seen some drawings where the hands almost look real, and the spine can be better represented I think so too, hmmm. Perhaps the silhouette of a persons back and their spine being transparent sort of.... I'm glad YOU'RE the one doing this and NOT ME!!

Logo Designer
of course i can trace a Photography but we'd lose the logo character that's my trouble.
About the spine i got some ideas, will post later

yawn!
i refined the hands and made a new spine. will post a few variations tomorrow.

Wow!! This is great!! We've come a looong way from the first designs. I really like how this is transforming! One of the other designers mentioned that hands adjusting the spine have a tendency to scare people who don't know or who haven't been to a chiropractor. Personally, I like the hands idea. I'm very excited by your latest.

Logo Designer
Great! thx, this is kind of good news. I need some distance from it now and will have a look later today.
As for the hands, i don't share this opinion. Honestly i thought some stuff like that when you asked for hands, but then i realized the only reason was laziness. Hands are difficult, as you could notice :)
On the contrary meanwhile i find them very inviting.

I'll post a few variations tomorrow, we have enough time now. i hope some designers will join the contest.
We could both edit our comments in the general discussion and replace them with: ...

Hi,
#45 and #46

Very slight improvements, i think i like the logo as it is now.

- made the whole Text bigger
- Faded the Spine into white on the left side
- added a thin white line between text and spine
- tried to find a friendlier orange (less bloody)

#46 is the same with grey

Logo Designer
Humm, you didn't like the bigger text or the color? i'm sure it's not the line because it looks much cleaner.
However, i just ran out of ideas for the logo because i like it but your suggestions are still very welcome.

Client
Hmmm, Actually, I didn't notice the bigger text. let me go back and look again. I was thinking I liked the circle above the hands and thats why I went that way, Now let me ask you... if you didn't know anything about chiropractic and adjusting the spine... would this logo scare you a little? I don't think so, but I need an unbiased opinion on the subject. And which colors do you like best as well?

Client
Oh, now here's one thing that I didn't look at earlier.. the spine is upside down...lol. Yes that's right, the smooth part of the spine is in the front, so adjusting a person laying down and on their back would mean that the spine needed to be flipped so that the spiny parts are sticking up. It of course won't change the look of the logo really, just that a fellow colleague may notice it.... YIKES!! Hope you're having a great day so far.

Logo Designer
it wouldn't scare me at all, it's only my subjective meaning but i'm actually having quite persistent back pain (since a few days, a result of sitting in front of the comp 12 hrs a day) and i feel better every time i look at the hands. I guess this is a proof. The only thing that scares me a little is the spine. But everything "inside" the body scares me, so...
Ask some women and you'll know.

The spine is upside down? LOL Now you know why it's scary! i'll post later
Thx i'm doing fine so far.

BTW... the hands look great!! (you're comment on how their hard to create). Don't take any drugs.. Ice, ice, ice for 20 minutes at a time and if it persists ... LAY DOWN and elevate your knees with a pillow. Support your back better when you're at the computer for sooo long.. Geeez.

#47 and #48

The spine is correct now.
Thanx for the hands (i like them too, they're mine) I never take drugs. But thanks (again) for the hint. i'll try the pillow. Ice you mean ice on the back or shall i eat ice cream? lol, i guess i like chiropractic :)

Client
pffffft... I had a patient once who asked me if Yogurt was good for you... I said "it's not the health food that it's touted to be but better for you than other foods"... he said "Great, because last night I had some yogurt ice cream". I had all of my other patients laughing uncontrollably that day.

What about taking the spine out all together? I mean just going with the smooth lines?

Logo Designer
LOL!
i'll post the lines later

Client
Hmmmm , and I was thinking... what about a logo without Geist Chiropractic in it? Just the logo/artwork and no text?

Logo Designer
Of course this is possible. But anytime you'll need the whole thing, for Biz cards etc...
Anyway, i'll post it later with the lines.

Um... do you really want a soulless logo? :o)

Client
Ahhh, Soulless... NO.. I don't want that!! So forget it.. I was just throwing it out there.!! You definitely like it the way it is then... Me too.. I just figured that we have another 7 days... may as well explore a bit.....

Here you go.
I'm kidding, as usual. You surely know that Geist means soul in german... just a play on words.

Logo Designer
The thumbs should touch the lines.... aww, another challenge for the week :)

Client
Hmmm, Actually I didn't know that Geist meant Soul in German, (and I'm half German!). So what do you think? YOU'RE the one who said the spine sort of scared you. Is it a bit less scary with the spine absent? Or does it feel like something is missing?? Of is that just because we've been working WITH the spine this whole time?? Geeez I don't know.... Geist...hmmpf
14 years ago

Client
Oh and what about the Soulless logo? You like? or no? Yay or Nay? Thumbs up or Down? Go or no go?

Logo Designer
Himbergeist = soul of the raspberries = Schnapps
I'm half german too btw. YES i was the one who said etc... but i'm not the burning bush, just a funny (sometimes) designer. You should talk to women, they are your favorite audience eventually.
Seriously, i don't have enough distance to my own stuff.

The soulless logo... hmmmmmm. Will you use this on biz cards? (no you won't)
However, this is not a real issue, in case i'll win this you'll get a file with separated elements, if you don't want any text then just erase it (and make a copy of the whole thing before)

Logo Designer
OK, yes i prefer the version without spine. BUT you must decide
14 years ago

Logo Designer
i'll make a special "Las vegas" edition of the logo tomorrow
'nite :)

Client
Ahhh the Las Vegas edition!! Lets see, actually I WILL use it on Biz cards, and on Letterhead and Envelopes... I'll use it on EVERYTHING!!!! I suppose if I can erase the Text sometimes that would be good. I suppose I'd use the logo with the text most all of the time tho... I DON'T KNOW!! Sleep well!

Logo Designer
This is no problem at all, you'll get several versions and that's it .

Client
Hmmm, I just received a logo from a guy in the U.S., it seems that sometimes a designer might try to wait until the last bit of the tournament then submit a logo and hope to win the contest without really doing any work. Would that be an accurate assessment?

Client
Ok... I'm thinking I like the #1 rank best so far, I'd like to see the text a little different, perhaps not so much attention to GEIST, so to make that smaller and perhaps make CHIROPRACTIC bigger? or what if we could make GEIST CHIROPRACTIC in one line across the bottom in the same size? What do you think? Are you up yet?

Client
And maybe get rid of the tag line all together? Help me out here.. lol
