I like your work but I was looking for something more pictoral representing the phrase I followed the music to Austin. Have you ever been to Austin? If not, I could provide a little more feedback that might help if you are intersested in playing around with this.
I can work in a pictoral design into the logo, if you wish. I just wanted to give you something a little more serious and simpler than the other designs.

Stencil like, grittier sounds good. Some background on Austin...on any given night you can go to the smallest hole in the wall bar, restaurant, whatever, and come across the most talented musicians. It is not country western, but more singer songwriter, rock, etc. If it is country, it is more alternative, folk or rock country similar to say the Dixie Chicks, Robert Earl Keen, Hayes Carll, or Lyle Lovett. I am not looking for a heavy metal look at all either. Something folksy, that when a person wears this logo on their shirt, they are wearing it because they think the Austin music scene is cool. I am launching this the day before a big three day music festival here where everyone from Pearl Jam to Michael franti to Kings of Leon are playing. Austin prides itself on being liberal, creative, unique and all about music. It is an oasis in the middle of Texas, where music is the thing that keeps you here. (It is definitely not the summer weather!!)
