At this time it is 1:30 pm on Wednesday. The contest is open until 1:30 on Thursday. That means that we only have a couple more hours to revise this logo in order for it to be in consideration. I will be available for 3.5 more hours today, and a few short hours (up to 11:00 am US CST) tomorrow. We need a few hours to make the decision. I love this concept, and I believe we are very close to completion, but it still needs work to be considered.
Okay...I like this font. Make it bold. The polygonic effects still seem too busy on this font---can you mute the effects so there isn't so much 'activity'? Have it have fewer contrast areas. Let's work on the color blue. I do't want Royal Blue--closer to a light navy/grey. I want to see that blue in RECORD and in the star. Keep the star's arm and Floyd County as it is. Maybe give me some depth (3-D edges) on the letters of RECORD.
too purple. Still don't like that font. I don't like the uptakes on the Rs...and need more substance on the bottoms of the letters. Can you give me dimension--not shadow--but edges on the letters. I want a 3-D effect. As to color--I want a muted blue--almost with grey tones in it if you can't get the muted greyish greens. Somehow, I want that start to stand out more...any ideas?
I love the "heavier" star! I still don't like the font of RECORD--its the rounded ends I don't like. Shrink Floyd County down a bit--it is secondary in importance. Let's add some muted blues (worn-denim blue), muted greens (dollar-bill green) with a lot of the bright silver to the Star and to the new font-ed RECORD. Leave the arm of the star (above Floyd County) silver.
I like the triangles. We need to just start over on RECORD. The font is too casual. I need bold, powerful, but not 'in your face' block-y. As to the texture, I want it to appear glass-like or metallic--3-D. So, I want 'edges' not outlines. Muted blues moving into silver/greys. See what you can do. I'm liking the Floyd County--without using the same font, mimic the coloring, just add some muted blue.
If you can apply the prismatic texture of the star to RECORD that would be cool! I don't like the colors--I think I want more muted greyish blue and greyish green (like a dollar bill green)--but mostly muted blue. I still like the design, we just need to work on RECORD. Do you have a more bold, substantial font that you could use? Something with more weight?
Interesting...Can RECORD have the same texture/gradient as the triangles? I like that dimensional effect. I'm not liking the colors in RECORD....more muted blues and silvers I think...less green and purples. This makes me feel like I am on the beach somewhere--and we have no beaches around here! :-) Instead of an outline on the letters of RECORD, give me 3-D effect. Pull the top tips of the triangles up a bit and...possibly make the ends thicker--not so pointy. So they appear to be more like a roof.
Mmmmmm...not really loving this. I still don't like the oval--still looking for those arcs to be horizontal. Can you make RECORD appear metallic, 3-D letters. There is too much pink--I'd rather have a muted blue to green to purple. And, everything EXCEPT Floyd County must have 3-D elements
Can you mute those colors a bit. I want to see less yellows and pinks and more blues and purples. Is there a way to make those ovals swishes just horizontal bars at the top and bottom? Also, I'd like dimension (3-D) in the RECORD---so it appears as 3-D letters coming toward the reader.
can we have less yellows and pinks and more muted blues and greens. Leave the Floyd County silver. Add some dimension to the star and the word RECORD...I'd like for them to be 3-D please. Now, I'd like to see these changes. BUT, I'd also like to see one with the star staying silver-without addition of the colors.
Instead of an 'oval' can we make those top and bottom arcs into straight bars? I am trying an oil-slick color scheme on some of the others---I think it would work well on this view, as well...could let me see one? Let's tweak the font in RECORD to be a bit more bold/sturdy--it is the primary focus. Decrease the size of Floyd County. I like the metallic dimension on this entire design.
Good Morning! I like this logo MUCH better--thank you! Could you put the line from the star back over the Floyd County as it was in your original red and blue piece, please? Because we are digital, we want to incorporate color. Can you create an prism/oil-slick, metallic type of color sequence...not the ROYGBIV, but the iridescent look. Put the color in RECORD in one view, in the star and RECORD in a second view.
Hi, Morning!
thank you for your appreciation,
I just make some variations based on your feedback #305#306#308
any feedback? if you have anything else in mind let me know.
We are ready to go!
Have a great day :)
Good morning! I like this concept. Red and Green are 'no-go' colors because we have rival schools that own those. Can I see this in blue, possibly a gold/goldenrod, and in ... grey/silver.
Instead of the star--could you put more points on it/coming from behind it, so it's not just a star? We are moving from print news to digital and need this logo to communicate that forward-thinking, forward-moving idealism. Also, because we ARE digital, we want to incorporate 3-D effects in the lettering of RECORD--gradients, shadowing, etc. Think about "breaking out" of the old print, black/white standard...
RECORD is the primary focus for us. I like the square--just need to reduce the attention to Floyd County. Is there a way to incorporate movement--we are moving from print news to digital news...any graphics, thoughts that could communicate a forward moving, forward-thinking idealism
