Also, search "Adirondack Raptors" and look at their logo - that is what I mean by "pocked"

Related to font, in your portfolio, there is a "Perfect Pretzel" logo with capital letter font that looks like it has "pock marks" - if there is a font with that "cracked or pocked" appearance that fits this brane/logo well, I think you may be getting really close. Perhaps even the bird itself could be pocked a little. (I don't even know if that is the correct word - I hope you know what I mean).

Also, I'm wondering what this would look like with the wings curved in a bit, as if it is propelling slightly away from the text.

I like this design, but not the font of "FIREBIRD" - perhaps something with "closed" letters?
