use black and red colours, with white accent perhaps. I do, however like the burgandy and gold theme

i acutally like the burgandy and gold..
perhaps darken "properties" and use accent lines?

I have already uploaded some revised logos but currently I am new designer under probation in logotournament.com, so my entries has to be reviewed before posting in the contest. Probably need to wait a day time.
