I have discussed all logos with my business partner, and we have selected #25 as the best.
However, we do want some variations done.
We have a problem with the word Trowel being broken by the letter T appearing in the Superman shield. We also would like to see the two little trowels at the bottom 'going head to head' similar to #102.
Are you able to work with us and complete a couple of variations over the next 2 days ??
We will create a mockup and send to you of some of our ideas.
We do like the colours you have used and the shape of the Trowels and metallic / stainless steel effects you have applied. We do not want any of these aspects changed. Our changes will relate more to the overall layout and how it all fits together.
Thanks for your feedback. Yes I think it can be done. Of course I can't copy elements of layout from any colleague but I can change position of my own trowels. Yes, loose "T" also troubled me so I posted #50 which seems to connect words together more but with the cost of missing Queensland outline. As we can't give our emails prior to end of the contest, please upload your mockup in the brief section. I will be back in my office in the evening so I shall have first revisions in 8 hours or so.
There is also other option - you can officially award my design and we can fine tune it later but this option leaves you not much choice if you are not satisfied with my work. In the first scenario you can still switch first rank and complete project with other designer.
As I have said previously, we like the general 'finish' of the logo (and also #50) but we just want to come up with a 'stronger' 'lock-up' for the design.
Here are some guiding notes: 1) We like the silvers and the metallic look. 2) We like the elongated shape (2x1 kind of format) 3) Your designs have the best looking representations of the Trowels, (compared to other LT designers) so please don't go changing the shapes or proportions of Trowels. 4) We like the ‘Stainless Steel’ look 5) We must include the Queensland state somehow. The colour you have it and 3D aspect is nice, but open to adjusting if need be. 6) We like the hint at 'Superman' badge and would like this to be retained somehow if possible. 7) We hope to apply the logo to a Cap and T-Shirt, so please keep this in mind. 8) The Trowels must be adjusted to go 'head to head' as this is indicative of 'clash of the titans' or similar to 'redbull' clash, etc. (The trowels sitting loose at the bottom look 'too loose', symmetrical and boring.
I will try and put a mockup together of what we would like to see, but we also would like you to use your discretion and come up with a couple of alternatives that you think work.
Even if you kind of just mock "the stuff together", to get our approval on "the composition" and "form" before applying all the Web 2.0 effects, is fine by us.

Thanks for your really precise and detailed feedback. I followed your guidelines as closely as possible but wasn't able to make all options because it's very time consuming. So I choose the ones that seem to cope best with main challanges: - Too many elements making logo too busy (so it helps a lot cutting off southern desert region of Queensland) - Capital "T" isn't exactly in the middle of the name - I want to limit it to two main colors which creates challenge on the borders where writing mixes with the outline of the shield I'm impressed by mock up you sent me - you know what you want and it was time well spent. After work like this we can expect you wish to share the price with winner :)

#123 Here is the first one from the second set. I will keep on working to fine tune it and prepare version with the outline. If you already have any comments please let me know.
Just letting you know that we have made some final decisions and I will mock up what we want for the final logo tomorrow, and try and send to you in about 24 hours time.
We would like to complete by end of week if possible.

Here is a silver version. Please check your email for bigger resolution. I let myself to change some details. Anyway I also like the effect but this is my job as well as yours - that's for sure.
Being nice and clear, i have pick up two small changes to the map that are required.
And, then secondly, we like the text to have a little bit more of a highlight across it. It just looks a bit dull the further out from the center you go.

Dull looks of the text comes from perception issue. Following your feedback I let badge rim as well as text to be 100% white at the top. Trowels are also max white which doesn't help either when trying to highlight the text. So I sent you also versions with darker shades of the badge rim.
No problem. As this is vector, changes like this are very easy to implement. I will also check for other possible glitches so you will get it in a couple of minutes.
