Like the concept. From afar it could look like a crown too, which isn't preferred. The lines under both lines of text is distracting. Could you try a serif font, for a more historical feeling?
Good to know! This is nicer as it is more simplified and I like the direction. Do you think those without family history would be able to understand what the icon is?
Could you try some other font options (maybe all caps, or 'Even Keel' font different than 'Coffee Company' (maybe add a serif font to one of them?
Better icon, be careful it doesn't get too whimsical. Not a fan of italicized fonts. Try increasing 'Coffee Company' to match width of Even Keel (don't need graphics to right and left of 'Coffee Company'). THANK YOU!
About the keel section, I come from a boat building family, and if you look at any architectual hull drawings from the bow or stern the keel will look thin depending on the view and hull type.
The abstract cup/boat icon is based on the cup not a boat.
Good morning and thank you. I like the coffee cup/boat hull split, great idea. The hull feels a bit pointy and a little too detailed, and the icon overall seems large for the overall logo. Also, you might consider some other fonts. I'm looking at the Whirlybird and Wine Interest logos from the Inspiration. Basically, if you could try and simplify icon and fonts. Very creative idea with cup and hull. Thanks again!

My other submissions profile view, no doubt what everyone else is doing, which is why I prefer the abstract boat hull concpet.
during this phase all desings are hidden I have no idea what anyone else has done. When the contest goes to finalist phase all desings are visible.

Hope this makes sense.

2. removed keel and added waterline

This is a rough draft only based on an architencual boat drawing style.
Your feedback on this direction is appreciated to help me develop this concpet further.
