Discussion

Hi, Thanks for your submissions! You have brought up a new concept in your design that I find intriguing: the keyhole showing a way to unlock the secret. The only thing is that your design includes a beaker. This, of course, would make sense for Einstein the scientist, but there are two things that don't feel quite right about this for my purposes. First, I had to look closely to notice the keyhole (it's a little lost in the beaker). Second, I hope to have a message for more educators than just science teachers, and I think the beaker narrows the field too much.

Is there any way you might be able to include a keyhole or key directly in Einstein's name somehow? Maybe in the E? I'm not quite sure what this would look like, but I'm wondering if there is any way to integrate that "unlocking the secret" idea a little more directly into his name? Or something similar to that?

I'm also keeping in mind the favicon possibilities, so I don't want it to be so complex that it couldn't have multiple uses, such as that.

Again, thanks for your submissions!

Thank you so much for the comments, I appreciate your feedback.. I'll be working on the keyhole concepts to give you more variations... thank you!

This is great! Thanks so much for giving it another shot! I really like 48 and 49. I am drawn to the swoop around the letters, but it may hide the key that you have in the top of the S. In fact, if you make the key itself stand out a little more in 48, I think we'll be on to something. Perhaps the key can be green, while the rest of the S is blue? Then there would be no missing it!

I'm only moving the one design into the top 5, but it's not because I don't like the swoop too. I do like the swoop, but don't want it to hide the key.

I am so happy that you like where the designs are heading..
thanks for the comments, Kindly see the few variations I have recently submitted, then let me know what you think.. Thanks!

These are looking good! I think the green keyhole stands out better. Just out of curiosity, what would it look like if you turned the top of the S - the actual KEY - a different color? Maybe red? Then that would stand out too.

These are ideas are really good! Thanks for working with me on them.

I thought red is too loud for the color of the key but it all fairness, it looked superb..\I also have submitted a few variations.. thanks for the feedbacks, I appreciate it..

Yes, it does seem that the red key may be too loud in that spot. I have ranked my top choice so far. I think the green key with the white keyhole (62) may be clear enough without a bright red. My understanding of this process (I have not used this service before) is that we can still play with the colors after this initial round is over.

Thanks for working with me on this! :-)

yes, we can definitely alter the colors...
you are welcome!

also, when you have chosen the final logo, the final files delivered to you will include an editable sourcefile (EPSfile) where you can also play around and adjust the colors of your logo just in case you have decided on something new...

Great, thanks for explaining!

I still very much like your key and keyhole ideas! I am wondering now if there is any way to emphasize the "learning" aspect? Again, I'm not totally sure what that would look like, but I thought I'd check with you. If you think it would make it too busy, I understand, but I thought I'd ask you.

Thanks!

we could subtly add up an element that could emphasize learning like a book, or a graduation cap..
i think that a simple graduation cap might look well on top of the E, as if it is wearing it.. but I saw that the top logo right now has done that
I am thinking of incorporating a book into the E. actually, please check on my latest upload..
let me know what you think!

Oh, I think you are on the right track! I like the idea of a book, even better than the graduation cap. I think the book needs to be more obvious though. Is there any way you can show the E and S actually inside an open book, or on the cover of a book? It would need to be a very simple kind of book, nothing too complicated. What do you think?

Here are a couple of ideas:

I just did a quick search for "clip art knowledge" and "clip art book" to come up with these. I'm sure you, as the professional, can develop something that will work and still show the cool E and S. I really like the idea of the key unlocking knowledge...

Thanks!

This is terrific! Thanks so much! I think it really shows my main idea, which is the key to unlocking learning. You came up with the very original idea of the key and keyhole, which put us on this path.

Thanks again!

Hi! So my understanding is that you and I work out the details this week, and then we finalize the logo, right? I'd just like to thank you again for your help. You have had some great ideas, and I'm very pleased with where we are!

A couple of things that we might play with. First, I think the E and S are slightly to the left and can be centered a little more on the book. Also, I am wondering if you have ideas on other colors. I am definitely partial to blue of some sort, but I am not completely "married" to the green. Do you have any other color suggestions that we should consider? I am open to your ideas!

Thanks!

Thanks Aleqsii! These look great! Let me think about them and get a few opinions and I'll get back to you later tonight.

Hi Aleqsii,

The general consensus is that 91 is terrific! We were all really struck by those great colors. Will you be able to give me the numbers on those, so I can make sure to match all the colors on my website? I don't know if that is possible or not.

One final request: If you could switch the colors on the words, so that "secret" is red and matches the key, and "Einstein's" is gray, I would like to see what that looks like.

Thanks again!

Thank you Aleqsii! It has been terrific to work with you, and I wish you lots of luck! This was a totally new process for me, but you - and many of the other designers - made it easy. Thank you for your creativity and willingness to work through my questions. I'm looking forward to seeing this logo all over the place! :-)
