Love, love, love #38 and #39!

A little concerned that #39 may appear as if it is carbonated water... but really lovely.

Would love to see more!

Hey there - thank you for the ranking and the feedback. For #39 I wanted to show you how the background could work around the label. I can't submit just an image of the background on this site but the air bubbles could be strategically scattered throughout the label. We would have to go back and forth to find the right balance so the brand doesn't appear to be carbonated. I could also play with the opacity of the air bubbles so they are more subtle. Again, it's kind of difficult to do that here since we are limited to size.

I think the font treatment is also very cool. The color orange is very sophisticated and a nice surprise making the name pop no matter where the bottle might be - in a hotel room, on the grocery store shelf, etc.

I'll work up some other ideas and submit. If you think of anything you would like to see, please let me know.

Thank you!

These are still my favorite!

My partner has some concerns about the background being white.

Could you try using your same color palette but use one of the colors as the background, and white as either the letters or the bubbles? Not sure how this would look...

Or, maybe some type of border to finish the outside of the white label...

Love your idea of the bubbles strategically scattered throughout the label! Very cool.

This variation has a gray background that simulates water in a container. If a transparent label is not possible, this might be a good option. Please let me know what you think.

Also - with you ranking me number 1, you will no doubt get an onslaught of designs with "bubbles" in them. Please give me the opportunity to continue working with you on any variations. Thank you so much.

Best,
Ignacio

Variation with the bubbles in a wider broadcast.

I just posted this on the main page, but wanted to make sure you got it:

The bottle the label will be on is clear biodegradable plastic with a clear plastic cap. It's a solid strong bottle holding 16.9 fl. oz, standing 8" tall (21 cm). I've noticed that most labels that are on clear bottles have bands of color to break up the white, or borders to separate the label off the bottle. This is something we would like to experiment with. The label itself is 2.5" x 8" (6 cm x 21 cm).

Thank you!

A thought:

What if #64's bubbles are reversed with the gray being at the center of the bubble and the white outlining the bubble. Right now they feel more like stars to me than bubbles...

Hey there - the new entries (#76 through #83) have bands of colors that work as borders for the label. In case it is difficult to see, the color variations are: silver/silver, orange/orange, green/silver, silver/green, orange/silver and silver/orange. The green I chose is very subtle. Of course, any color can be changed according to your specifications.

For #82, I reversed the gradient so that the darker shade was in the center of each bubble, as you asked. I also added one of the borders so you can see it applied here. Rather than submit several more entries, I'll let you decide if you want to see another border-color variation for this entry.

If you will also notice, I added bubble elements in front of and behind the top border lines. This can be applied throughout the lable so that the bubble elements appear throughout. I wanted to give you an idea of what this would like like and how it will tie the entire lable together.

I hope you like the variations. Please let me know what you would like to see next.

Thank you!

These are great! Love all of the options. What do you think about incorporating midnight blue in with the silver and orange? Maybe in the the bands? or gold with the orange and silver? I had a bright orange sweater on today with a gray T-shirt and threw on a vintage gold necklace and it really popped! Not sure how a non metallic gold would translate...

Love the detailing where you used the bubbles over and under the borders. Very nice!

I am currently working on this with just a bit of input from my partner, but am prepared to get more feed back and input from other investors in another day or so.... I want to make sure this is looking really strong before I present. Thank you for all of your hard work!

Hey there - I'll add a midnight blue and gold as you suggested so you can see and compare. It might be later this evening before I can submit the variations.

I hadn't looked at what my colleagues have been submitting until just a little while ago. I hope you like orange because it seems to be the theme for the font right now. It's a little irritating and amusing at the same time, but I guess it's the nature of the beast.....

If you can think of anything else, please let me know.

Best,
Ignacio

PS - your outfit sounds very swank!

# 82- eco aqua looks like it's sinking.... but like this one otherwise.

It does, doesn't it? Either the name is sinking or the bubbles are rising softly to the top after being poured into a cold glass on a warm day while on a picnic in Central Park..... but I digress -- lol

I'll raise the font more towards the center.

Thanks!

ok, here is another thought...

what if the top border was thicker than the bottom? still having the pin stripe below it...

sorry i keep moving my favorites around.. i keep changing my mind. i love the simplicity of your original design so much- it actually is still my favorite. However, I think the label is going to need those borders... so i continue to change my mind.

Hey there - I've submitted the following according to your last two messages:

#99 and #100 - Added gold and midnight blue elements respectively.

#101 - Demonstrates a thinner treatment to the bottom border.

#102 - Adjusted the name so it doesn't appear to be sinking and introduced another border treatment.

I really appreciate your dilemma in regards to the border treatment. What I suggest you do is look at it as two different designs. If you select the brand design you are most happy with, then you can experiment with a border treatment that will most *enhance* the design and the packaging as a whole. It might take printing out different treatments and actually applying them to your bottle. As such, I think the design process related to this project has to continue after this contest ends. I really don't think there is any way for you to know what the treatment will look like with just the images displayed here. Like I said earlier, I would be happy to work with you to develop your brand.

Would I would advice you is to look at the product. It is eco-minded as well as being pure and transparent. The packaging is going to have to follow suit. My early design, the one you like best, took all this into consideration. I wanted to communicate "purity" so that the only thing "moving" were a few air bubbles. What's purer than that? Against this, the orange treatment for the name broadcasts style, modernity and sophistication. If you take this into consideration, then the border treatment becomes secondary and can be chosen through a process of trial and error. All this - by the way - is why I'm irritated with my colleagues here who have followed suit and used the same color treatment and other elements. One thing is to have a strong theory that's thought out behind the design, another thing altogether is to apply a treatment simply because it is highly ranked.

Just ask yourself what you want to communicate. What are you communicating with a clear background as opposed to a dark background? What are you communicating with one style of movement, like a few air bubbles, against another more agressive movement? And what is the source of the movement? -- etc, etc.

Ok - I think I've written a novel here, or a short-story anyway. I hope it helps your process if even in a small way. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!

Here's another variation - the font is "transparent" so that the color underneath the orange band comes through. If you like this, keep in mind that any element can be substituted for the butterflies. Thank you!

Wow, #135 is really beautiful. Have had some interest from the others here. Is it possible to use less pastels and more strong graphic tones? Not sure if it will translate...

Hey there - glad you like #135. I really like it too. I scaled back the opacity on the colored elements so the butterflies would look almost like reflections against some still water. I will increase the opacity to make the colors pop so you can compare.

Thank you!

Hey there - here is a variation with bolder color elements. In case you can't see this - there is a thin silver band on the border of the orange center band. The butterflies would wrap around the label, so there would be lots of movement on the design. Additionally, I don't recall seeing anything like this on the shelf in the water section of the local Whole Foods or Central Market. It would certainly make a statement on the shelf. As far as the concept - there is hardly anything as delicate in nature as a butterfly. A product that speaks to ecological concerns, by default speaks to the vulnerability of nature.

Please let me know if you would like to see other variations.

Thank you!

Re #152, I'm just looking at the uploaded image and it's no where near as crisp here as it is on my screen while I was developing the design. Just thought I'd point this out. Thanks!

#135 and #152 ever so lovely. It would really be suitable for an organic passion fruit iced tea! We may need to expand our product line!!

Actually am leaning toward the subdued colors in #135 over the bold of #152. Would this design translate into our original color palette? Or is that just completely off base? Just say yes if that's the case. Maybe the orange, silver, and gold of #99...

please quit when you've had enough of me! really.

Scaled back the color for a more monochromatic "water" scheme -- butterflies made out of water....

I noticed that the original design that I love and adore, has one simple shadow below lowest bubble #38.

The current versions #78, #99, #100... all have a look of double shadows. I really prefer the simplicity of the single shadow.
